What is a zero suit? Is it something worn in the zero room?
Khai posted Fri, 10 October 2008 at 12:45 AM
you don't need to change for the Zero Room... unless your a Timelord that is...
giorgio_2004 posted Fri, 10 October 2008 at 5:31 AM
Yes, yes, yes!!! Great start!!!
Please, please pretty please tell me that you want to model the Power Suit too! I could pay whatever you want for it! I could ever send my sister to you! (if I had one, I mean)

What is the power suit?
cujoe_da_man posted Sat, 11 October 2008 at 2:38 AM
the power suit is worn by Samus Aran in the game(s) Metroid. What I'm showing here is the suit she wears under it where in one game she loses the suit :D
pitklad posted Sat, 11 October 2008 at 3:40 PM
Samus is so sexy! (although I've never played the game)
I've seen the most unbelievable fanart for her!
Always was wondering how come there wasn't any poser stuff for her
Very nice job on this!
giorgio_2004 posted Sat, 11 October 2008 at 4:20 PM
Because her Power Suit (for example, this is the Varia version, maybe the most famous) would be a TOUGH job even for a serious modeler.
I was not joking when I said that I'd willing to pay a nice sum for a good Poser model of Samus' suit. Someone wants to take the challenge?

How many types of those suits are there?
And I gues if some one models it, it should be for V4.

Since the powersuit is fully enclosed, I don't see any purpose in trying to model it around V4 or any other character model, not like you're going to stick some conforming underwear outside the armor or anything.

Exactly. It could be a stand-alone character which does not need a V4... except maybe for an head when the helmet is removed.

cujoe_da_man posted Sun, 12 October 2008 at 11:45 AM
I have a version of the female Guyver armor that I was able to "seat" a head on it and turn the helmet off. To be technical, there are 3 versions of the original Powersuit, the standard, the Varia, and the Gravity, all the same but different colors. Then there's slightly different versions, some with really big shoulders, some without, and then there's the Fusion suit which I'm guessing could be some kind of bio armor like the Guyver
So, the question becomes, how many do you want and can you get someone to build 'em all? :P
Jestertjuuh posted Sun, 12 October 2008 at 12:20 PM
Googling a bit.
It seems that the one with the "cams" on the shoulder is most popular.
I only can find pictures looking at the front and not on the back

Littlefox did a mechsuit helmet, and there is a V4 armor that is almost identical to the body., except no shoulder pods or gun arm. I can't remember the name of it. It had an ugmo helmet and weirdo looking jet engines on stalks as well as out-rigger gun pods at waist level. If I can find it, I'll post a name.

Are you referring to the Stellar League Assault Suit, found at DAZ? It's great, I own it and I have used it in a picture, but it quite different from Samus' suit...

The chest piece is almost identical to the chest piece of the armor,IMO. I never played the Samus game or Metroids so I don't have the POV of complete accuracy on this. LOL

giorgio_2004 posted Mon, 13 October 2008 at 4:42 AM
Yes, the two suits are similar in the chest piece, but only because they have the same "pointy" shape over the breasts. Unfortunately their resemblance ends there: armpits, collar, neck and back zones are totally different....
Besides, as said before, a "real" Varia could be best created as a standalone character, rather than as a "suit" wearable by a V4.

Ok, I gave this a thought and desided to give it a try.
DISCLAIMER.
It is as it is, a try.
I am not a pro modeler but a begining hobby modeler who likes a chalange.
I will try to model the suit as acurate as posible, and probably need some help along the line.
Dont hang me on times, I have a very busy work life, so I only can model in the litle free time I have.
I never done rigging before, so this wil be the first time in that department.
If there are other modelers who want to give it a try, by all means dont wait on me and do so
Ok, that aside,
Do's the suit needs to be UV mapped or collored by shaders?
And do you want to have the lines modeled or added by bump mapping?

Ok, few questions.
I run into 2 different styles mainly.
One is the "rounded" style, i.o.w. all parts are rounded off.
One is the "edgie" style, all parts have sharp edges.
And I think I open a seperate thread for this.
Its easyer to follow for you guy's and I dont hey joe...uuurrmm, hi jack this thread
