I'm working with the grouping tool in the hair room trying to make a stubble prop. Everytime I try to select anything, it shows up selected like this in a green outline (see attached picture.) Is there any option to turn this feature off? It makes it hard to focus on close details when trying to work in the hair room especially.
Thanks in advance!

Try a different display mode, like hidden wireframe?

There is an option to switch this off, but I'm at work and I can't remember it. Look under the Display menu for something like "Show selection outline...", and untick it. As I say, i can't remember exactly what the words are, but it's there!

I tried everything under the display menu and nothing seemed to work. I don't think this can be turned off. I agree with RnRWoman, this is irritating.

Set "HILITE_BODY_PART" to 0 in the Poser.ini.

If you have access to practically any modeling application, you'll find that selecting polygons for this kind of purpose is MUCH MUCH EASIER. Poser's Group Editor is terrible compared to pretty much any other tool.

Ah yes, that was it.. not on the menu at all, but in the .ini file. Sorry to have misled you.

I have ZBrush, CInema and Truespace. Will any of these do the same thing? I'm unfamilar with grouping in this way in other programs.

It is isn't it? Especially for those zoomed in shots when you're trying to get little tiny polygons selected. :P

Okay, I've ran into a problem. I can not find any "Poser.ini" file for Poser 7. I would think it wouldn't be stored in an other location... But is it by any chance stored somewhere else?
Thanks!

It is stored in your user profile.
In Windows XP I think the path is:-
C:Documents and Settings
(But you already know about my memory).
In Mac OS X the file is:-
/Users/
(I cheated and looked).
(edit) If you are in Windows and you can't see the Local Settings folder, you will need to tick "Show hidden files and folders" in your Folder Options. Or just type the full folder path into the address toolbar.

Thank you so much!
I'm a Vista user, however your instructions still helped me find the directory. For Vista, this is the directory you might want to look for it in: C: Users
Thanks again! I'm going to see if that works now. :D

UPDATE: It works! Thanks to all who've helped me with this issue! I hope this thread is of help to others!

Yay! It worked! Thanks everyone :D

Great!! I'm glad it worked for you too, Doran! I don't know about you, but it certainly makes Poser a lot faster when in the hair room. Now I can make dynamic hair more comfortably and Poser moves along a lot more smoothly. Thank you for your comments!
And thanks again to all who helped! :)
