I received a Site Mail from someone yesterday saying that my signature keeps crashing their browser. No one else has indicated a problem with it.
I don't like to be inconsiderate, so I want to find out if this is wide spread or if it was an isolated problem.
It's just a standard java script, but if it's causing wide spread problems I'll remove it.

I've got Noscript running so I don't see it - looks pretty but I don't think I want to be reminded of Xmas just yet

What signature ?
checks noscript settings Site blocked
My guess would be that whoever had the problem has a version of Flash that can't cope with the one your signature is intended for.

I can see it here on Dad's computer with IE7 & I can see it at home with FF - no problems or crashes on either.

Not really. It's a count down to Christmas using a java script. Santa in a sleigh being pulled by giant pigs with snow falling around them in a winter setting.

If it crashed my browser I couldn't reply in this thread anyway...
That said, it works fine for me with Firefox 3.0.3 on XP Pro 64 bit.
Puntomaus posted Mon, 20 October 2008 at 7:04 AM
Works fine but since I'm using Firefox with the Addblock and NoFlash it has that little block sign in the upper right corner. I'm blocking it for now - it's really a cute little pic and I like the falling snow and all but not now. Over here in Germany the supermarkets have already put the christmas candies and cookies and stuff into the shelves at the end of September so I'm feeling a bit sick of christmas already before it even has officially begun :( Too bad that they have to ruin it over here so badly, they are pushing it each year a week earlier and that's not funny. We don't have something like Halloween in October or Thanksgiving in November, it's only Christmas in December and they try to make as much money from it as possible.

You just said "using a java script" - do you mean a java applet, or a javascript. (Java and Javascript are different languages.)
Anyway, until today I was able to see your sig. On Friday I was offered and accepted a new version of the Java runtime. Now all I see is a black rectangle.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I have FF with Adblock and NoScript... I temporarily unblock the flash thingy. Looks cute ... no crash here... When I go to another page and come back in here, it will be restored to the proper scheme of things...

Well, when I first replied yesterday, I could see it. But today it's just a black rectangle. I got a java update sometime this weekend, but it was visible even with that. I've no idea at all why I can't see it today, as I've not done anything different since yesterday.
