Very new to blender and finding my way around..My question is:  If I paint an object with a .blend file that I downloaded will that texture export  with the object so I can use it in Bryce or Poser?

Thanks for any help..

Don't thi nk bryce or poser will load a .blend file. If you take an object, uv map it, paint it, then export to obj it will carry the map over, you can then grab the texture over in the mat edit of the other program.

----------

Toolset: Blender, GIMP, Indigo Render, LuxRender, TopMod, Knotplot, Ivy Gen, Plant Studio.

If you mean if you use a procedural texture in Blender can it be exported with the model then the answer is 'sorta'.  You'll will have to UV map the model then "Bake" the texture to the UV map.  This will get the basic texture (e.g. marble) but not things like specular or ambient, or any the more advance settings.

I'll try posting an example I did in Blender and transfered to DAZ Studio.
