Subject: Antonia - Opinions?

That definitely looks like an interesting product. If I wasn't so busy with Antonia, I'd love to take it for a spin.

*Is everything dynamic? I'm just about getting to grips with the cloth room. What would the best settings for the simulations be?

You will like this clever and free tool already mentioned here:
http://www.philc.net/ClothRoomPresets.htm

*You use it this way:

Set up your cloth simulation as usual and remeber the name of the simulation (in most cases "Sim_1").
Go to the material room and find the cloth room presets
Decide for a cloth behavior, click it and type in the name of your simulation ("Sim_1" for the first one).
Go back to the cloth room and run your simulation.*

And if you really wand to understand what the dials do and alter the one or other thing I highly recommend this site:
http://my.smithmicro.com/tutorials/2313.html*

*By the way: Is there anyone else who recieves no ebots at all from any thread here? First I thought that all people here lay in bed with the flu but when I had a look... *

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

Why, oh why is the Inet being silly tonight?
First it cut off my full comments a bit ago now it shut down when I tried again...sigh.

I still think Antonia looks much better than V4.
But having ability to make V4 and M4 shorter, taller, have shorter or longer limbs is a nice thing.

And I hope we will have similar morphs for our Antonia.

Hi RorrKonn, I dont think anyone means to attack you. People from all over Daz, Rendo, others have been giving their time to work on Antonia. This is a good thing, brings people together, the more people get together the better the results. Daz vs Poser gets heated and divisive very quickly (believe me I know, I have made that mistake myself a time or two)

cheers,

Thanks SF,

I got that package from Phil when it was first recommended. I worked from a tutorial in 3DWorld magazine when I first used the Cloth Room so I have a reasonable handle on what does what.

My ebots are fine and I get a notification every time, the same can't be said of Daz! How are the textures coming along? I'd prefer them to be incorporated into the face textures rather than overlays.

The real question is, what happened to Anton?

The problem with a free figure with a no redistribution clause is that if his site goes down, no more Apollo...

Since Antonia is under a CC license, that is not a problem for us here.

I tested it in DAZ Studio 3.0.1.144 because I don't have Poser 7 or above.   There are set of deformers (magnets in Poser) come with the package to solve some poke through issues.

Well... I wanted to have Antonia on the first site of my/our homepage and had a hard time deciding what she should wear. But hubby was of the same opinion as you are: "We are in Germany, we are allowed to..." and sat a completely naked Antonia directly to the front page. I can tell you that I never simulated and rendered an image with a dynamic dress that fast 😉. Because yes, we are allowed - but I do not like the idea that a child wants to have a free 3d-figure and Mom comes in and sees an entrance site with a nekkid girl. But to comfort you: Inside she's undressed so that people see what they get.

I sort of see Amy's clothes as Basicwear for Antonia.

You could paint clothes on her, yes, but, not everyone is blessed with those kinds of skills. With 3D those that have the skills can help those that don't.

**odf**,

I owe you an apology. I made the facetious comment "You sure you didn't read the instructions standing on your head?".

The fact was that my "ROT x2.pp2" prop was effectively broken, because I had forgotten to set a realistic trackingScale on the Y spin dial. I should have fixed the prop, instead of making snide comments, and expecting you to guess that you had to type in the rotation angle.

All I can say in my defence is that too many late nights, and too much cheap cider, had taken their toll. I hope that you can forgive my lapse.

Attached above is a fixed version of "ROT x2.pp2", with the more realistic trackingScale of 1.0.

That's why Victoria 4 comes with her bra and panties texture as default.

In fact, the Victoria 4's bra and panties texture also help me to tell Antonia bends much better than Victoria.  How I did that?  I drew a very simple bra and panties on top of Antonia's texture by using the painting tools in Blender, then made some poses and compared them.  I noticed that the "panties" changed in more realistic way on Antonia than its counterpart on Victoria 4.

History about the Beach Volleyball set for Antonia:
The Beach Volleyball set is based on the same set I made for Aiko 3 few years ago.  Of course, the mesh is not the same due to improvement.  The Aiko 3 set contains no ERC/JCM because I didn't know how to do it at that time.  The set works well of Aiko 3 even without ERC/JCM.  A year later, I tried to do the same for Victoria 4, it failed due to my lack of knowledge and the complexity of Victoria 4.  Then, I stopped making conforming clothing due to discouragement until I read this thread.   Thank you for helping me to learn ERC/JCM.

I think what you are seeing is a bit of an optical illusion. I think those gaps are really the ties on the back of the top, and not the actual straps going over her shoulders.

I concur with Fisty.

These days if they have as much as a slightly upturned nose, you better render them with their driver's licenses in their hands. 😠

Can't say I blame the site management or the mods, though. In the current climate, they have to be careful.

in real life the human eye is about 1 inch in diamater.
human head 5 eyes wide
baby 5 eyes tall
teen 6 eyes tall
adult 7 eyes tall
artist tend to  make eyes a bit bigger thou.
anime makes eyes real big
art is a ilusion

anyways if you make V4 eye 1 in in diamater
she stands about 4 feet 2 inches tall.
or ya can say shes 6 foot 2 inches and her eyes are 1.35 inchess in diamater
V4 real long legs is what makes her look tall.
her extra large eyes makes her cuter n younger in apearance.
her longer face makes her look older
it's all a ilusion

99% of artist makes the charaters legs longer.
eyes a bit larger.
ears,nose a bit smaller.
the illusion of art.

anyways Antonia short legs will give the illusion that she is very yong.
cause every one is use to seeing the 99% of artist charaters with real long legs.

Not sure if it was the nose in this case LOL

Back up to page 206 and take a look at amy_aimei's render. The face is clearly that of a woman closing in on her 30s, or a little beyond (No offense Antonia :p) , but her body looks like a twelve year olds. In that particular render, the fit of the bikini really does take the years off, but that is only because Antonia's body adds to that illusion.

I think the mods want that clear distinction, and as you have said, I can't blame them.

On a side note, and to say thanks for the work on Antonia's JCMs, go take a gander at product number ps_mo554b (V4 animate Belly Dancing) on Daz's site and watch the video, which is the second preview image. As you watch it, take a look at her armpits as she lifts her arms... I swear if she flapped those things a little harder she could fly.

I'm not a V4 hater, but I certainly wouldn't hire her as a Belly Dancer until she has a doctor take a look at those wings that spawn when she lifts her arms.

I should try with Poser 6 or the 2008 Pro and see what happens.....
