Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 27 9:18 am)
Yes, it looks as if we sooner or later need a thread to discuss Antonia-things (but so far I am not able to let this place go... :crying:).
And as we now have time to start a flame-war I can think of some cool debates like
Why I love Antonia over...
Antonia is uglier/lovlier than...
Antonia is far too expensive (just for people that don't like to read any readme's or statements)
...and many other things that, as a subject, make me walk into the kitchen and fix me coffee and popcorn.
By the way: I've uploaded 34 new poses to celebrate Antoina's release and have a render here for postwork to celebrate! And there are still lots more poses to convert and tweak, Schlabber was really very, very busy and I have collected all his free sets over the years. And, as you told Leo, we have free and commercial sets in planning.
I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!
And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

Quote - @Wolfie: What a sweet dress!! Is it a combination of second skin and a dynamic skirt?
Thank you. Sorry, I forgot to make a note about the dress. No, its not a second skin. I made the dress in Marvelous Designer 2. Its a dynamic dress but I didn't use Poser's cloth room. I exported the posed antonia to MD2 and let it drape it properly there. Then I imported it back to Poser.
Quote - so far I am not able to let this place go...
This thread will still be here. And I don't think people are going to stop contributing to it, at least not in the short term. People will still have questions to ask, things to suggest, and stuff that they want to show off. Eventually I guess the thread will die, like all things, but I think that may be some way off yet.
Thanks for the poses!
Antonia-1.1 - Opinions?
I guess at some point there will be a thread "What would you like to see in the next version of Antonia". But not today, and not next month, either.
If more people start using Antonia, there will probably be more threads just about particular things that came up, the same way it usually happens with other topics.

Quote - @odf,
Do you plan to announce Antonia's release in a new thread In the Poser Forum? It would seem a good idea, as this thread is probably not very near the top of the stack by now.
It is if you sort by the date of the latest post (which I always thought was the default).
If anyone can be bothered to ask the mods for permission and post an announcement on my behalf, they should feel free to do so. As far as I understand, there's only one place on this site where I could possibly make such an announcement without violating some rule, namely the Freestuff forum. But that would require me to actually put her into Rero Freestuff. I'll be looking into that, but not today.
But I think it'll go as it always does. People will start making Antonia-related posts or threads, and so the word will gradually spread.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Quote - I love your characters, Cage. Amazing work!
Thank you!
I'm going to work on updating Harley Quinn and the diaper for Antonia 1.0 over the weekend, then try to post them on Monday. Valentine's Day. Why not.
(If there are any Doctor Who people here, who can offer pointers on the Zoe face, seen in my last post, please let me know what might improve it. This is one of those difficult faces, hoo boy. Anyone? SamTherapy? )

Thanks, Les.
The kind of baggy sparkle suit is just a second Antonia figure, with a lot of Morph Brush alteration and a displacement map. The nice thing about it is it can double as any kind of jumpsuit. So I'll do Devo and Polysics versions, I think.
Antonia pretty much rescued Poser for me, really. I was close to giving up on the program, being fed up with the existing figures. Antonia is a wonderful figure and I hope many, many people will begin making things for her.

Cage, I think you are very very close to Zoe. If it were me, I think I would flatten the bottom of the nose a bit, and broaden the bottom of the face just a smidgen. It's kind of hard to explain, so I did this little tweak with the smudge brush in PSP, to show what I mean. Perhaps I went a little too far with the nose.
@odf: I just installed the brandnew, shiny, finished Antonia and found that there is a little "glitch" in the installer: You forgot to include the Runtime-folder in the folder hirarchy so many users will helplessly search for Antonia after unzipping her and instead find may new folders above the runtime folder when they point Winzip to Poser and not to the runtime folder like they are used to. Ah... yes, I think as well that this sounds a bit puzzeling, so I hope that you understand what I mean.

Oh and: I just tried to add your asian features to the finished Antonia but unfortunatly they do not work as desired any longer... too bad. If you are not bored now... ahem... would you re-create it? I am always having a very hard time when it comes to eyesocket-manipulations. Somehow they don't like me and usually I end up with the eyes popping out of the head.

I was following lesbentley's suggestion there, which possibly I hadn't thought through completely. Blame my insomnia!
Anyway, his reasoning was that most users would unpack into an existing runtime folder and thus get confused if there's an extra one in the zip file. Honestly, I don't care either way. We can take a vote or throw a dice.

Actually, you are not 'required' to upload to Rendo's freestuff unless you want to...you can link to your freebies in the Freestuff Forum...just not in the freestuff section any longer.. Thats why we created the forum

Ah, thanks for clarifying that. Either the rules were changed since I last looked, or else I must have misunderstood something.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
I don't care as well - unzipping to the runtime directly is just unusual and I thought I should mention. Maybe I am just so used to it because it is required to use the Hirarchy runtimme-->libraries--->andsoon when you sell your produts.

I just downloaded them from Antonia's site and tried them out, and I couldn't see any problem. What is it that's not working for you?
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
If I dial in the flat-nose morph and just go a very little bit over 1 the jaw drops out of her neck. And the browridge flat morph opens the eyesocket too wide. But it looks as if I have a very old version of the morphs here (three single morphs). I will download them again and try them out.
It looks as if I am the queen of silly requests today...

Nope! I don't see any of that.
The only small problem I've noticed is that when the upper lids go up, they slide underneath the folds. So I guess instead of pulling vertices downward for the fold, I should have just moved them forward. Hindsight! I'll fix that one day, but don't hold your breaths.

I'll do a render - in some minute I'll upload it. Maybe you can look up where you've uplaoded the asian morphs? Just to compare them with the ones I have. I am sorry but I can't find them online (I confess that I am awake since Thursday, no sandman for me as well...).

I've been watching the work on this for years, and I'm sure it's a big relief to get her out as 1.0.0! Really nice work and following this has been very educational. Thanks for sharing her progress.
I was curious about a couple of things. First, I've seen a few face morphs for her but do you think there will be more? Is anyone working on a set of them for release? Second, do you think there will be a set of body morphs for her? Is anyone working on that?
Thanks
odf congratulations for this great achievement!
I've been watching this thread from the beggining and I'm very happy to see Antonia become "1"
A question for anyone who uses Daz Studio, please...
When loading textures, does DS always ask you to locate the texture map or am I doing something wrong?
I did let DS do a search for content so it should work.
Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)
BluEcho...Faery_Light...Faery_Souls.
BluEcho DS will not search for a file if the pathway doesn't point right to it, the devs changed it early DS2 after it used to hang trying to find textures where the creator forgot the " on either end of the pathway, now we have to locate them ourselves or fix the pathways in a text editor.
":runtime:textures::.jpg" << that roughly what you need for a texture pathway (including the " on each end), that way it'll work properly in both DS & Poser.
Here is the way mine is set-up but it still asks me to locate it...
":Runtime:textures:BE4:BE4Nicol:BE4NicolHead_Lips.jpg"
so if Im not doing anything wrong, I will now upload to the MP. :)
BTW:The morps, poses and textures work fine in DS3 unless you create the morph with Binary Morphs enabled in Poser.
Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)

It would be really nice if said posts and questions could be consolidated either hot links at her site page as you or someone else suggested or even here.
Say a thread for requests ONLY.
A thread for tech support questions.
A thread for announcing developments, etc.
These threads when postedwould have links to other sites/threads where relevant info on Antonia can be found and perhaps for a while even a Gallery thread for those working with her, especially in the beginning to guage her usefulness in this fickle community, can post images of her.
I know for the kind og guy who hates poking around the seemingly number of forums, having a common location where ALL THINGS ANTONIA can be found...like the POSETTE FOREVER SITE.
Quote - I unpack into Content (DS user). I prefer a Runtime to extract.
That's great if you are a DAZ studio user. I just installed some 50 or 60 of my archived DAZ purchases (from WAY TOO MANY MORE still not touched!) and it seems DAZ does the same darn thing with their installers. It sure made re-locating the Poser 7 Runtime folder each time for each product installed a royal pain it the heinie not to mention a lot longer process than i though I like. Not to mention that even though I pointed the path out for the installer to
>Poser7/Runtime folder
The darn installer installed added a new runtime folder within the residing RUNTIME folder I pointed it to already in place making it a freaking nightmare to transfer all the stuff from one embedded Runtime folder back up the Heirarchy to the main Runtime folder.
When you have one or a few items to install/transfer it is annoying but workable. But when you gat a lot of stuff to install/transfer like I did, not setting up the installers to work more effectively becomes a nightmare.
It took so long I still haven't finished transfering them all. :(
Attached Link: Antonia 1.0 has been released
I started a thread at the DAZ Commons forum in case anyone wants to pop over there and say hi or let folks know where more freebies are!

NO no, my reasoning was that the zip should, quote; "place the files in the main Runtime if extracted in the main Poser folder".
This is fairly normal praxis with most of the Poser content I have installed. You extract the zip to your main poser folder, eg "Poser 6", or what ever, and the files are placed in the correct location within the main Runtime.
Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, I thought my meaning was clear, especially as you have used this system yourself in the past, but perhaps I did not explain myself well. :(

Happy First Antonia. Congratulations and thanks to odf and all who helped make it happen. Antonia had already became a bench mark figure before her 1.0 release, very impressive.
