Thanks!

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

This is an OpenGL problem. Somehow the OpenGL system loses
the starting point of some facets, and tries to start them from (0,0)
instead of their real location.

Are you using OpenGl or Sreed for the preview?
I've seen that often in Sreed, with switching to OpenGL fixing the problem.

Yep that fixed it, sadly the lighting in my scene was too dark for OpenGL to show anything in preview mode for that particular set up, but at least I know the fix now.
Thanks!
