Can any one tell me why my render is not coming out the size i expect ?When I have finished my picture elements as i want them i do a draft render and note the size eg one i am doing at the moment is 864X920 . for the final render i will up th quality to max auto and choose to render to exact size and i will multiply the size of the preview render by say 3x in this case so i set it to render 2592 X 2760 now a lot of times this has worked fine for me but sometimes like now the render is finished about a third of the way down leaving most of it not rendered any idears what I am doing wrong?

out of memory?
Try clearing any memory cache before doing a render.
Just a thought.

tried that, match preview window works fine and does exactly that .its that size i am then using to scale it up ie multiply both dimensions by say 2- 3 X and some times thats it exactly what it does, then on another picture i do that and i get may be a third or a half .if im having trouble with one even sending the save to my other pc and rendering it on that one i get the same problem

As far as I know, your comp cant handle it.
I use a old comp for rendering and have the same problem on some renders.
Especialy on complex renders with lots of details, AO, reflections etc.
To avoid it you can eather lower the render quality or render in layers.
I usualy render in layers or parts and put them together in a paint program.
I am not a complete idiot, some
parts are missing :)

can they be rendered to disk abit like in vue that enables vue renders to be very complex and large that wouldnt render to screen . i would have thought my pc was up to the job though quad core 4GB ram what specs would you think is needed?
bigdave1960 posted Sun, 02 November 2008 at 3:44 PM
would using vista 64 and 8GB ram be a worthwhile improvement?

Vista 64 and 8GB of RAM are only useful if you're using Poser Pro and the background render option.

Try to export it as a movie (one frame) or as a movie with image series.
Otherwise renderpasses could be a solution.
BTW, what´s your DPI settings, if your not planning to make renders for print, 72 dpi will do
just fine. They will not be so "heavy" either.
