grabbed the nightworld lycanfrom daz, but i was really disapointed by its dynamic fur, it would not even load the fur prefab figure without crashing my poser pro (amd64 x2 6000, 8 gigs ram, vista pro), so i loaded up cinema 4d and created some fur patches i would attach to the figure...i made something like that once for lemurteks wolfgang back in the poser 4 times, and it turned out really well, so ive applied the same tech to the lycanthroposwith following result:

one bad mutha D:   i think it turned out very good so far

im still working on the fur for the arms.. and i guess i need some morphs to shorten those stupidly long heels (hock), the ones coming with it terribly deforming them when going to a lower value...turning them into toothpicks

Very nice!

You might want to check out the morph expansiion I released for him as well...

wow that is awesome

The hair crash mentioned in the original post came from Poser changing the way that the hair operates. I can render it fine on my machine, but that is only because I didn't update my poser yet. But this looks cool.

i am not really happy with dynamic hair anyway ^^   never used it, takes to much processing time..set up time...  and it wont really look that well..  im happy with my oldschool skills ^^  i dont do any animation work anyways in poser..  and there are so much better hair solutions for those other programs i use

The hair addition looks really awesome!  It completes the model.

thank you ^^  right now i am trying to do something like that for Mestophales werewolf manitou aswell, the only thing that makes the process complicated is the lack of a fur texture, i have to do a own one from scratch for it, which is a whole lot more work, but i think when its done the results could be even better as with the lycanthropos. a friend of mine asked me to do fur like that for the SA Horde, because in his and mine opinion it looks not really hairy, even with the default fur stuff attached to it... and it mostly looks like the fur is floating m with a little space between the outer fur layer and the skin of the horde model, when you are looking dead on from the front at it...  ive seen peoples with more hair on their backs than the horde one has, cant really consider that as fur... right now its a big hairy ape man with lotsa teeth and claws...  with a new body texture and some custom fur parts it could look good aswell...  just need to find a way to get the muzzle longer, and the head a bit wider without messing it up

Gareee posted Tue, 11 November 2008 at 4:55 PM

Make sure you have digital documentation for purchasing the horde somewhere.. SA has gone after people who've developed items for thier products, and compared the names with thier customer names, and not been able to verify that that person did indeed purchase their product.

Even for a freebie, they'll come after you.

lol, im not going to sell anything, nor im using any SA product on my own computer, im not willing to pay that price for a model my computer barely could handle even without the optional eyecandy, i messed around with it on my neighbours poser, and his computer is only a little bit slower than my machine, and its realy crawling slow on render times. im just curious how it would look, so i do a set of fur parts for my pal.  i dont care what he is going to do with them...   i also do not care about SA at all, with his apparently hostile attitude against potential business competition and content developers he just harms himself. but maybe he just got his head way to far up his own ass to realize that.
i dont think its really mature, or reasonable whats going on there, whatever.. just sue me for knitting a pair of socks for my friends doll :p

Honestly, that wouldn't surprise me.. LOL!

Why people support someone who treats his customer base like trash is beyond me.

Is the Mestophales werewolf still available for sale anywhere? I tried his site but it has been down a long time for maintenance and it is not available here.

I like the Lycanthrpus..but the long haired version is a disaster on my system. So I'll be watching this thread closely :)
