Subject: Porting Poser Poses to Daz

lsrivers ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2008 at 6:07 PM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 4:13 PM

I have a lot of poses in Poser and would like to bring them over to Daz.  Can anyone tell me the best way to go about this?

PS,
Don't assume anything, I'm a newbie to DS.

Thanks!

You have two ways that you can do that.  You can either install them to your DS directory  (and then they'll be in your content folder, right below your Studio folder) or, go to Edit>Preferences> Click on the Directories tab, choose Poser Content Directories in the drop-down tab, and click Search, and it will find all of your runtimes, as long as you have them set up properly (DS looks for a Poser.exe file in the base directory of a runtime)

Hope that helps!

Or go to Edit>Preferences>Directories, choose Poser content directories, click Add and select the folder that holds the Runtime folder with the Poses in it (depending on what you have on your machine, Search can return too many folders and make an unmanageable mess). This, or either of Jen's suggestions, won't immediately show the files in recent versions of DAZ Studio as they default to the Category view in the Content palette which will show only files that have been added to its database: if you haven't dealt with this already, click the triangle button at the top-right of the Content palette to get the option menu and either do a search (to add the files from your newly added content folder to the database, in the Unassigned category) or choose one of the View folders as modes (top two menu entries).
