Would anyone be interested today, in this era of Vickies 4 and Micheals 4 in a remapped version of Vicky2. One that could take V3 textures straight on without requiring a UTC? Also, would this be product that anyone would be willing to pay $10.00 for?
If so, please comment below.

So tally ho me old mate and count me in.
Marque posted Thu, 04 December 2008 at 10:47 AM
Since I already own UTC probably wouldn't be interested.
dphoadley posted Thu, 04 December 2008 at 11:00 AM
You would prefer to process 50 dozen textures to fit one figure, rather than have one figure that could make direct use of those textures without the bother and rigamarole of having to process them first?! OK, to each his own.

I have both UTC's and its a bloody pain having to do diff textures for figure as 1 figure could take all in 1 go be better.
momodot posted Thu, 04 December 2008 at 11:19 AM
Remaps are much better than using texture conversion. I think $10 is a very good price but certainly the ability to use MATposes rather than hand loading is important IMO. I figure you should do it "just for fun" dp and I am sure at $10 you will get some nice money for Poser purchases and certainly gratitude from the folks like me that still use the M2/V2 and VickyPT.

Dear Momodot, I will do my best to make the figure MAT posable. If you noticed, the Judy V3 that I sent you is MAT posable.

I'd be interested in a remap of M2 first, but then, you knew that about me already. :tt2:

I use characters based on the V2 figure almost exclusively in my artwork. I've been fine with converting textures from V3 to V2.
If you remap V2 to be the same as V3, won't you lose the ability to use your existing V2 textures? So, to answer your question, no, I probably wouldn't pay $10 for a remapped version of V2.

You wouldn't have space in your runtime for both versions of Vicky2?

You would add not lose... you could use your standard V2 with standard V2 maps or the new remapped V2 with unimesh maps. You could try one of David's freestuff remaps to see how it works...

Vicky 2 is here textures with Marina's Adela 2nd skin texture, so that I can check how the seams line up with each other. All things considered, I think that they line up very nicely. This V3 texture was a Christmas freebie a couple of years back, and may still be. I originally downloaded it to test my remapping of PosetteV3 with it. When I finish this project, Vicky 2 Classic will be able to give both V3 and V4 a run for their money! ;=D

I'd be interested, too. A figure should have more than one uv map, makes it more versital.

I believe that what's needed is a standardization of UV Mapping, rather than multiple UV's for each and every figure. Just like gauge width has been standardized for Railroads, so should Texture Configuration be standardized in Poser.
Since Victoria 3 has been the most popular figure for over a decade, and has generated hundreds, or even thousands of textures, I believe that she should be the standard to which all other figures configure to.

When it comes to Poser figures, I believe that their diversity of mesh aside, there should be a Unity of Utilization, that should find its expression in:

As for universality... I would add a universal neck joint for head swapping to my wishlist for standardization :)David, should you contact Mike (Phantom3D) about releasing the V2 remap with his new rigging system as a collaboration? Have you been following his work?
