Last night, I ordered a new 19" widescreen monitor that's capable of displaying only 16.2 million colors. It's going to replace a 19" flat-screen CRT that I've been using for years.
It just occurred to me that, if I ever manage to figure out how best to organize my 3D content, I may have wanted to find an 8-bit monitor instead. Unfortunately, I can't return the one I ordered if I don't like it.
Bear in mind, I'm strictly a hobbyist who has no experience with anything remotely related to graphics work. I usually just play games, record and edit video clips. At the moment, I'm still just trying to get my feet wet.
So, I'm left with a question that I'd like to ask all of you:
Is 8-bit all that important for 3D modeling?
