Subject: BVH of ACCAD LAB

Hi,

did anyone tried the BVH's files at  http://accad.osu.edu/research/mocap/mocap_data.htm ? i have tried the  female's BVH files and hack it using so called "davedub bvhacker" to modify those files and it works well in poser. BTW, for male's BVH(very useful for fighting poses), it doesnt gives a very well pose, and yet a very awful bended hips, hand, shoulder, etc.  bvhacker does not give much help though. any solution would be appreciated.  thx

Thanks for the tip, bvh are always welcome. I'll try them as soon as I get a chance, from what you wrote, it sounds like they will need some "blanket" adjustments in the graph editor to drag the rotations or bends back to normal. If you've not used those before PhilC's tutorial here
http://www.philc.net/tutorial7.htm is a useful start, and I found some further tips on the product page for his bvh editor

see att lnk.  ISTR the ones in the female folder work, but the ones in the male folder(s) don't work.

wow, now there's the alternative way of 'BLANKETING"  mocap other than  using the layer animation. i never thought of this until u posted the tutorial to me... heya thankS man! and hope there is another more easier way.

If you havent seen these, check out these BVH files -- almost three and a bit gigs' worth. All free. And best of all, they work well with most characters, even toons.
