Is anyone running Vue in Wine on Ubuntu? If so how does it behave?
The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Pardon the flippancy, but...
"Ubuntu and Vue"
sounds like the title of a new sitcom, don't it?

Vue 6 PLE apparently works very well with an older version of Wine...

Vue 6 xStream works with some issues:

I haven't tired it myself...

I tried installing Vue 6 PLE and View 7 Pioneer beta using the latest development version of Wine (1.1.12) and the install failed-it tries to install a library and the installtion of that library fails. It flashes up very quickly, but it appears to be a Visual C redistributable. I installed MSI 2 and the Visual C 2005 SP1 and 2008 redistributables, but Vue still won't install.
Cheers,
Rod

Compared to the cost of Vue itself, wouldn't it be easier just to install a low end edition of Windows and dual boot?
You are likely to need other tools to run along side Vue as well, so your investment in a copy of Windows will pay back in saved time and avoided compatiblity issues with other software too.
