This is a simple question to clear up some confusions here in the forum.
If some one was to ask where can I find a product or Freebie like fill in the blank ? Is it okay to post a link to said product or freebie or is that a TOS violation?
Please clear up the confusion.

Let me see if I get your point.
Let's say you start a post, saying, while you like Mike 4, you'd rather not spend the money or Runtime real estate on him until you're dazzled, so does anyone know of any other figures, for free or for profit, that are in a similar vein as Mike 4?
Are you asking if you can link to Mike 4 in your initial post? I don't see why not. You're not advertising, you're asking if anyone knows of comparing product.
However, if you're asking a question about a product, the best place to ask first is the creator of said product, as they'd be able to answer questions better than most forumfolk. Plus, chances are, only 10 other people have the product, and you're the only one that visits the forums ;)

That is not the only one I have seen like that. Some members (sorry to say this) are afraid to post anything even remotely possible commercial due to the horror stories from a "few" about TOS violations.
This used to be the site to goto when a new product was released even if it was on another site cause everyone posted here. Can I make a bold suggestion? How a about a Semi TOS Free Forum where members can talk about anything with in reason and no one have to worry about what they post as long as it is with in taste and not violating other members rights?

What it is is misinformation on the TOS. We've clarified it, others have disregarded our clarifications. For instance, in the first post of the "Going forward" post that is an announcement thread at the top, I clarified it as such:

However, to ease your mind, there are exceptions to the rule. For instance, if someone were to ask "Does anyone know where I can get a pirate ship"? as a question in the forum, feel free to point them in the direction of pirate ships, both free and for sale. While you can't outright advertise them, and we shouldn't have allowed it in the first place, you CAN link to products, both free or for sale, should the need to answer a question arise.
You may, also, post a 'how to' question in the forum if you've purchased a product or downloaded a freebie that you're having problems using. We always recommend that your first line of communication is with the creator, but sometimes you find workarounds in using the product that the creator didn't think of. It happens.
Yet, still, people spread misinformation. Links are allowed. Nowhere did anyone say that they weren't.
Also, any suggestions need to be sent to admin@renderosity.com They don't carry as much weight coming from me as they do from you guys. I can want all kinds of forums with all my heart, but unless the community wants them bad enough, they don't happen.
