I am having texture memory trouble. Sometimes after I render a scene and then go back to the preview mode I get the message: not enough memory to load texture map. And then another message pops up saying: Texture could not be loaded, Image map file could not be found or not enough memory to load. Then it loads the image but the V4 textures will be just shiny white.
The problem started when I used Silvers Tomara character. When I use Thorne Works textures I have no problem. I can then load a Thorne character texture but it will not let me load Tomara.
If I turn off poser and restart then the file loads just fine... until the next render.
This image is with one V4 fiugre fully dressed with Darkling and about 9 Lisa Botanical shrub props and 1 tree prop. I'm using a DM lightset with 4 lights
I'm using poser 7 with the newest service pack. I'm running Vista 32 bit home edition, with an Athalon 5600+ 2.8 Ghz and 3 GB system ram and a nividia 6150SE with 128 Mb ram. My motherboard will hold 8MB.
My questions:
Is there a way of purging the memory without having to shut down the program and re-starting?
Will increasing the memory to 4 Mb help resolve the problem? Is there any use adding more than 4Mb with this version of vista and poser 7? Is it just a matter of slipping in a card and turning it on or is there configuration that has to be done... I'm a hardware idiot.
3)Any other creative solutions?

brewgirlca, from your system description, system memory should not be an issue. Have you tried other texture sets (besides Thornes) in the same scene? I'm guessing that there may be a texture path issue rather than a memory issue. As far as purging memory that also should not be an issue, Poser 7 does have a "Reload Textures" selection in the Render drop down menu. This should allow a "texture refresh". I don't have Silvers Tomara or I'd play around a bit. Sorry can't offer more help...

Holler - thanks for the suggestion... I also cannot believe it is memory.
Don (Idonno) suggested the same thing, a texture path problem. But I just loaded Tomora using the Content Paradise download. She has worked fine in ohter pictures. I would think if it was a texture memory path it would always be buggered up.
Funny thing ... I had a Jepz stem prop in the picture, and when I turned it off (still there but just invisible for rendering) the problem went away. And when I think about it, ohter pictures that have included these props have also had rendering problems... so I wonder if somehow the Jepz steam prop is not buggering up the file texture path.

That sounds like your problem. I was going to suggest turning off other items in the scene to see if that would help to pin point the problem. Glad to hear you found the problem.
