Hello everyone. I have just finished my first custom set for aery soul's bioflow and am nearly done in setting it up for upload here on renderosity. My folders and license etc is all completed but I do not know how to create the mat files. Can anyone help me on this?

If you can create a material collection (Poser 7 and maybe 6 ) then the attached document will help.   If thats not an option there are a couple of matwriter scripts in the freestuff utilities section.  Some of the information in the document was gathered from other posts in the forums.

Hmmm I can't seem to find any matwriter scripts and the text document you provided me makes most sense but I am still confused

Did you attempt to create the Mat in the material room first?  If you can provide the steps or confirm that you used the steps in the attachment markschum posted, that would help in solving your problem.

Edit:  I just reread your post, if you followed the directions to the previous post, the MAT Pose file should appear in your pose section of your library.  Load your clothing into Poser and have it selected.  Double click the MAT Pose icon in the library.  That should change the texture of your clothing to the new texture in your library.

Alright here are the steps

  1. In material room I added the mat to the library using the plus button
  2. I moved that from the materail folder into my folder for example(Dante16/runtime/pose/custom itme/)
  3. In Poser Pro the item with the png image that was with it does not show in the folder in poser pro.

I believe this is due to the file needing to be saved as a pz2 and not mc6 the only problem is when I open the file to be edited in wordpad i notice window says cannot find program to open Dress 01.mt5. I need to change the mt5 extension to a pz2 but I do not know how to do that.

Any help anyone?

Nvm I have just changed the mt5 extension to pz2 however my custom clothing is still not loading =/ any suggestions? NVM fixed this issue as well it was just an error in file location. One last question though the mat pose works and everything but it only works for part of the clothing like the arm cuffs and not the actual body of the clothing. How can one select all parts of the body before the original pose is made. This would remedy this issue

I'll need to check into this with my own PoserPro since it has been awhile since I actually needed to create a MAT Pose.  In the meantime, just make sure that 'Body' of your clothing is selected before applying your texture.

Edit:  Okay, I just checked the saving settings for the Material Room for new material.  Upon clicking the '+' in the library palette, you should get a new window for naming your new material set.  Make certain that you select 'material collection', then click 'material selection'.  A new window will open with all the material sections selected for your clothing.  Deselect those you don't need  and click ok.  Click ok again to create your material.  And that should do it.

It works =) thank you for your help, support, and time

when you save in the materials room you get a prompt. If you do it right for a collection  you get an mc6 file extension, otherwise you save one material only as an mt5 extension.  I discard the thumbnail for the material and render one for the mat pose. They are just 91 x 91 png files .
