Hello all,

I am having a wee bit of trouble importing some saved Vue 6 Inf scenes with poser people in them into Vue 7 Inf. It seems it takes a very long time for the scenes to get into Vue 7 Inf or not at all. Once today I waited 5 mins for a saved Vue 6 Inf scene to import into Vue 7 Inf. Vue 7 would just hang and when I'd got to the task manager in Vista 64 it said that Vue was not responding.

I have some ideas that maybe the problem or may not be.

I have Vue 7 Inf set to the Poser pro selection to import my poser scenes.
Maybe it's the size of the scene we are talking about a 144,650,100 poly scene mostly made up
of terrain and vegetation, a vehicle and two poser people.
I don't think I have a memory issue with 8 gigs of ram and a quad core machine.

When I import one of these scenes it looks like Vue is loading the scene okay but hangs with nothing but a white screen in the viewing window. Yet to my right the list of the scene's contents are there. I may need to attach a screen capture then next time I do this.

So anyone have problems like this? I know that Vue 7 inf has the option to set up Poser Pro for import but does it really work?

Thanks!

Poser imports for VUE have been a sore spot.  They have not worked.
The company has stated that they are working with the makers of poser for well over 2 years to get this resolved.

Vue is a powerful program I hope one day they actually do solve the problem.

Haven't had this particular issue, the only probs I'm having at the moment is the Hulk syndrome!!
Thta is M4 and V4 textures coming in Green, there are others having it too, but e-on say they cannot replicate it, which is bollocks!!
Even the great Artur Rosa has the Hulk issue, so I know e-on are talking bollocks!!

Injustice will be avenged.

well I always
a) import to Vue, tweak materials
b) save out as vob (and always save textures with any file, model!)
c) re-import as vob

that should always work ok :)

Normally, this means the answer to your question "So anyone have problems like this?" is negative.

If no one answers, you know you're the only one... :-)

I suppose you're right : ). I;ve never been one to have too many program related problems but when I do mine always seem unique! LOL!

Thanks everyone.

I don't import complex scenes, and I don't have problems importing simple ones.

I compose single items in Poser Pro, such as a person or a building, or maybe a person sitting on a chair, but I build my scenes in Vue. My Poser import is configured to use Poser Pro also.

(And although I don't normally use the Poser shaders, I did test to see whether they ended up green and indeed they did. Vue 7 Infinite.)

I seem to remember some discussion about loading Vue6 scenes in Vue7 in the registered users forums at e-on....
