I know this must be a common thing & therefore loads of answers/tutorials, but I can't find any which describe what I need to do. I'm trying to create a "realistic" texture and figure for Poser before I start messing around too much, so I've been fiddling a bit, and have come up with this problem... The eyelashes are solid (arghhhh)... Other than that, the skin texture looks good, and I'm happy so far. This is my 1 stumbling block to starting off doing "decent" images :) I know I must use a transmap, but I'm not sure where to start.... I have UV mapper, but I must admit I have not used it yet... So I would need very newbie answer for this program... On another note, how do I get my clothing & other figures in the scene to save in my .cr2 files?? I've created some people, and clothed them to look beautiful (:)), but when I add them to my figures, it only saves the base figure, am I doing something wrong?? Thanx.

As far as the translash is concerned, if you'd like to get an idea of how to create one, try downloading the one available at digital babes. You can find the link in the column on the right under "web ring top 15". It's basically a grayscale image that tells the program what parts to keep solid, and which to make transparent. The way to use it is to apply this transmap texture to the transparency material slot in poser. Then use the transparency sliders to get the effect you want. The poser book the program comes with should have more on transparency. Not sure about the .cr2 files...haven't made any myself yet. Good Luck. Dragontales

Check out the above site, which is Kozaburo's Digital Babes, and download his eyelash transparencies. Set the eyelash color to black, the highlight/ambience/reflective color to black as well, and load the Translash.jpg file you get from Kozaburo in the transparency field. Don't load a texture/bump map for the lashes. Set maximum transparency to 100 and all the other transparency settings to 0. I think Kozaburo has a pic of the map settings in the .zip file. These are just very basic settings and wil get you started, you can tweak them and adjust the color of the lashes, etc once you get them to work. I'm pretty sure the above is correct but I'm writing this from work and don't have poser open so I might have missed something.

Oh yeah, as for the .cr2 files -- I believe they only save 1 object each. If you want a whole scene to be saved then just go to the file menu and save it as a pz3 document.

Hmm, I found the translashes (thanx), however it still blocks off the lashes as one solid clump. I removed the texture map on the material called "eyeLash", set all the colours to black, loaded the translash.jpg as my transparency, set trans Max to 100% all others to 0, and still no joy. Is it concerned that the translash is 2000x2000 pixels, but my skin texture is 3000x3000 pixels?

hehe. we all made the same mistake, im sorry i forgot to mention that on the p4 woman there are 2 lashes/eyeLash listings. i don't use the p4 nude woman much so it slipped my mind. i suggest you also get kozaburo's hair and textures -- its great stuff. you can get azura/eve4 from the link above -- its a superior model to the p4 nude woman and best of all its free!
