looks good, wolf. try carrara for speedier rigging. you can have that animated,
assuming the obj file has zero joint rotations everywhere, in under 5 minutes.

Maybe you could just make the head part a conforming part for an existing human figure?
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
wolf359 posted Mon, 19 January 2009 at 10:52 AM
'Ill just put the meshes up in free stuff with the stipulation that it can only be redistributed as a freebie
if someone wants to rig it to give to the community
that would be cool.
Thanks
All

Well, I've no progress to report as yet, and am in fact only just starting.
Quick question, Wolf. What sort of default scale do you want for this figure? In the movie, I believe it stands nearly thirty feet tall. Would you prefer it to be rigged at Michael-size for convenience?
wolf359 posted Sat, 24 January 2009 at 6:49 AM
Actually I think he would work better being a giant since he a a specif figure from a movie
i am not concerned about him "fitting existing poser content.

Very very cool! looking forward to seeing the results LD

I'll try rigging GORT larger-than-life, then.
But you know the Poser community, of course ... someone will eventually want to stick the bloody thing in a trenchcoat and fedora. Or a pink tutu.

Hey LD any update on rigging of gort??
EdW posted Thu, 29 January 2009 at 12:44 PM
Just my 2 cents worth ............... I'd rig him at normal Poser sizes then scale him up and tweak the joints for the scaled up figure.. save to library and you have your figure.

Why ?
hes a stand alone Genre specific figure
since he is NOT going to be a commercial item
Compatibility with existing poser content is NOT a concern

Easier to rig since you can use one of the existing rigs... Once you get him rigged you can scale him up... save to library... export obj then reuse the rig save to library again.. delete the old version
you have the larger figure

What we need now is a klatuu figure, and the rest of the characters from the 1951 film.
Sculpting faces ie morphing is not my forte. But with morph dials, magnets,a lot of
coffee, and happy pills who knows lol.
LostinSpaceman posted Sat, 31 January 2009 at 12:30 AM
There's already an existing Michael Rene, the actor who played Klattu. morph available for M3 out there. Mogadeet did it ages ago. Of course, if you're talkin' Keeanu Reeves, isn't he in one of Jepe's Celebrity packs?
