Will Poser recognize a quad core processor. I have dual and it's great but would love to move up to quad.

Any Poser version will run on a dual or quad core CPU, though only Poser 7 and higher will make use of the extra cores.
Poser 7 can utilize all 4 cores when rendering, speeding up the render quite a bit.
Only certain stages of the render benefit from having multiple cores though - loading textures and geometries, for example, do not.
Setting up a scene uses only 1 core. Hair and cloth simulations also only use 1 core.
If you consider moving up to a quad, also consider moving up to a 64 bit OS and installing more than 4 GB of RAM. Again, only useful for Poser 7 and higher.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

I'm so glad to hear that Poser 7 works with the Quad 4. Can you tell me if there are any problems with running Poser 7 on Vista. I just bought a Quad 4 and unfortunately it has Vista on it.

No issues with Poser.. can not say the same for Vista!... (UAC and some other Vista "features" can create issues with most any program!)

DO NOT INSTALL POSER IN "Program FIles"!
Vista protects the Program Files folder, so you won't be able to install content in the main runtime. For content like V4 and M4 that's a real pain.
Install Poser somewhere else, like in C:Poser (or, if you have more tha one partition - and I certainly hope so - in D:Poser)
Same for content: install it outside of the "ordinary" structures. I put new content in external runtimes; I've got one "holdall" folder called D:ExternalRuntimes that holds about 10 external runtimes right now.

No, you can install in Program Files, but make sure you install for all users and Serialize it as the Admin (Turning off UAC bypasses this)
If you get errors, it most likely means that some files are in the Virtual Store (one of those "Features") Copying them to the Program Files location in Poser install will ususally clear up the issue.

After much fiddling, I've installed it outside of the program files and it seems to be running with less problems like adding content and morphs etc... Thanks everyone....
