Hi. This is totally OT, but I'm hoping someone here knows something that will help.
When I create a picture or a design for my 2d and 3d projects, I do a series of screen caps of the process using a utility that assigns sequential numeric file names (0001, 0002, 0003, etc.) I usually direct each set of project captures into a named project folder (KingKongGirl, DragonInTheStreets, ShiskaBobTheGhost, etc ) . I now have about 750 or so of these folders, and I need to cosolidate selected contents into common folders for another project without file name conflict, and tagged with original project name.
What I'm hoping to find, is a utility or batch file, etc that will rename the files in the folders by appending the file name as a suffix, so the files are renamed "KingKongGirl001, KingKongGirl002, etc"
I could just use MultiRen or Bulk Renamer on a folder-by-folder basis, but a utility that would automate this would save me tons of time and typing.
Anyone know of such a utility? Or possibly even a DOS batch file? (I'm on XP)
Thanks for any help.
