Is there such a script? Or do I have to manually delete the light and recreate it? Thanks for any info you can give me!

select the light, and from the properties panel, there should be a buton to change or set parent , use UNIVERSE . Ot open the hierarchy panel and drag your prop and drop it on UNIVERSE at the top .

parenting it to Universe is the same as unparenting .

Thank you, a friend showed me how to do that last night, but I have a large set of HDRI lights I made where one of the lights is parented to the figure but I've decided to change that idea and go with just the Point At function and I wanted to sort of batch unparent the light sets.

ahh, ok , thats not a problem , script for you soon , unparent ALL lights ?

ok, heres the script.

For all lights , it checks if they are parented to something , and if they are it unparents them .
There seem to be some bug in changing parenting by script, but give it a try.

rename the script from .txt to .py
