There was a time, in the early Seventies, when (here in the UK) colour TV was new, so the old black and white set got relegated to my bedroom. As a result, from about 1974 to 1978, I absolutely immersed myself in Fifties Sci-Fi/Fantasy; watching Fifties Sci-Fi/Fantasy films was pretty much all I did for all those years. Truly a Golden Age.

God bless him. He was never a big name in Hollywood, but he had a long and fruitful career. And his association with Harryhausen was probably the best thing that happened for fantasy film fans in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
