Try changing to SreeD Preview and see if it still is the same.

When you save your characters with the manually loaded textures, do you have the transmaps saved from the material room, as well?
I generally don't save textured characters since I change my textures often enough when I'm working on a product that it isn't worthwhile for me to load an already textured character.
One thing I do know is that I have my display set to texture shaded so that textures are displayed in the document window.
Not having a Mac I don't know if there are any differences that on my PC. I've been using Poser since ver. 4 so I'm pretty conversant with its features and haven't had this problem. When I load a mat file the tranparencies come in just fine if they're saved in the mat pose (which I still use on my own machine for convenience) and offer in my packages.

I do indeed. I even tried manually loading textures with the SreeD preview setting and it just didn't recognize the transparency maps in the preview. And when I loaded one for the corneas, the eyes just became white. Once again, it renders fine, but annoying in the preview. I usually save my characters with textures because most of my texture work I do in the poser file when I'm creating the character. and I have in the past worked on the textures further after the fact, but it's easier to just re-save the texture (with a backup of the old one of course) than to re-load every character part. Anyway... dunno what's up with this, but I'll go back to the to settings and manually load again. Was just trying to save a bit of time today. Thanks for the reply, R

Quote - Spoke too soon. Now the textures are there, but eyebrow and eyelash transparencies are not. Even with my saved characters with manually loaded textures.
Well, SreeD preview is different to OpenGL preview. If it still renders correctly, what you are seeing is due to the limitations of SreeD.
Going back to OpenGL preview, did you have "Enable hardware shading" switched on in the Render Settings for Preview? If so, try turning that option off, and you might still be able to use OpenGL.

When I'm working on textures for new packs I save them as .psd files in Photoshop because Poser will recognize the .psd and reload the textures every time I go out into Photoshop and change something ... one of the best features of Poser I can think of.
I wish I could think of what's going on with your Poser ... mine has never behaved that way unless the texture files were not in the place Poser thought they would be. If I think of anything else, I'll give you a shout out.

Thanks IsaoShi... That seems to have done it. Let's see if that works for real skin too lol R
