is there a filter node that i can use to create a pattern looking like cut wood? does not have to be ultra-realistic ... if anyone can point me to the right direction?

thanks in advance

I'm almost sure there's a default material that comes with Vue that has this look. I can't check now but you can do a search in each default material folder. I don't remember the name of the folder but I know it has nothing to do with wood, you'd never guess there's wood there judging by the folder name. :-)

thanks for the woodmaker link, looks very interesting. but also i want to learn how to make wood effect in vue. even if its only for learning the FE better ...

i found the oak material ... and WOAH ... that will take some time to dissect the FE nodes :)

the more i study the function editor i get the feeling that this is part of a strange dimension you can get lost in!

i dare to say it can stay complex even when you have passed the beginners stage. but that's what i love about it ... tickles my creativity button :-)
