I'm a 3D modeler, and I'd like to rig some of my models for Poser, so that I can put them on the marketplace, and maybe even a freebie here and there.
My problem is that after I get the bones set up in Poser and I bind them to the model, parts of the poly-mesh break up as I pose it. The shoulder will tear right off the arm, and so on. Some of this appears to be because of the grouping, which I can work on, but some just seems wrong.
If anyone has experience rigging models in Poser, could you give me some tips to fix this?
Thanks!

[ X ] "Bend Body Parts" <<< You prolly need to do this.
It's on the main menu under "Display" >>> "Bend Body Parts"
There is, also, a [X] Bend for each Body Part in the "Properties" window under [X] "Visible".
If these do not fix your problem, you may need to "weld" the body parts.

Thanks for that! It's already set, though. Some of it clears up when I tweak the grouping, but not all of it. For instance, I have an upper arm with the bone grouped perfectly to that upper arm geometry. When I bend it, the mesh tears at the shoulder and underarm.
Any other ideas? :-)

I did some digging around on the 'net, and found this:

I think this will take care of it for me, and possibly help others. If I still have problems, I'll post them here.

You have sets of inclusion and exclusion zones and the spherical falloffs for each joint. There is a bend paparamter on the body part properties display.

The thing about the shoulder breaking off sounds like a missing WELD parameter to me. Poser needs all groups welded :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
