I feel like a dork these days... so many questions. Is Real Skin Shader just not compatible with M4? It seems to run its course, but doesn't do anything? I haven't had any issues using it with other characters... but is M4 just a no go? R

I don't think Paul has done an M4 Real Skin Shader yet. If he has, it will, most likely, be found over at DAZ which is where he brokered the V4 version.

You could try BagginsBill's VSS with the PR3-Version of his skin shader.

On Face_Off's home page (sorry no URL) he explains how to edit RealSkinShader to work with new figures such as M4 or "old" ones such as Miki 1020. You open the file and look for the comma separated list of material names and add the material names used on your given figure... mine is edited to work with everything from the Poser 4 figures through V4 including Apollo and the EF figures. You can get the material names to add by looking at the figures pull down in Material Room. The script is just a .txt file with a .py extension and you can edit it with note pad or any other text editor that saves .txt without adding formatting junk.... I use EditPad Lite which can open huge .cr2 files instantly and has good search and replace functions. I need to see if I can edit the script to give me slightly cooler under tones.

@momodot:
So it's not a compiled python script? Very kewl! I'll have a go at it and let me know if you figure out how to tone down the under tones.

I don't suppose anyone would be kind enough to post the text strings for V4 and M4 here so that we can cut and paste them into our script?
ProudApache posted Mon, 23 February 2009 at 4:15 PM
I was going to ask the same thing if someone could paste the string to edit the Unimesh Realism Kit for M4 and V4. Thanks.

I guess this thread died.

Yeah, I think it died. I was hoping someone would post their script.

They wouldn't be able to post the whole script because it's part of a commercial product.
Wouldn't like to speculate on whether a diff would be OK.
Modifying it (provided it's not compiled like the V4 one) for another figure isn't that difficult (list of material zones, and OBJ filename check need attention).
Just remember that you won't be able to use the mask/distribution control images for a figure that has a different UV map than the one the script was intended for.

The script has been modified but not for sale or anything. It's a modification to make the program work with M4. As of right now the script is on Face Offs web site but I don't know how to do it so that why I was asking if someone could post it here.

I didn't see any mention of M4 in that thread. Alot of other figures were mentioned.
Victoria_Lee posted Wed, 04 March 2009 at 10:13 PM
I know. I went looking but couldn't find anything about M4, just V4. I wish someone would post the script or send an IM on how to do it. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
