Subject: The Nose Brigade (commercial interest?)

Would there be any commercial interest in a package of headmorphs like these, these five and probably five others? Either as low priced solo heads, or in bundles of five or ten? It would be a series of original stand alone sculpts that wouldn't require any morph packages. It would most likely just be a variety of heads meant to bring to mind more real world girls (with less omnipresent Nordic noses), and not body morphs or textures. Though I'm not opposed to adding a few morph++ bodies to go with the custom heads or some basic textures.  However, all the textures used here are from other packages.

I'd think there would be a market for that.  As a matter of fact, there SHOULD be a market for that.

There are far too many "dialspin" characters out there.  I refuse to purchase dialspin characters.  Why should I pay someone for producing something anyone with a digit on their hand can produce? 

1,.04,.03,1,-2,-.04, etc... = "ZOMGZ NEW KARACTER!"  ain't really what I call significant.

As a spinoff from another project, I started working on some custom face morphs as well.  What I think is really needed is a pack that covers every major facial group so that users can have not just an alternative to Morphs++ but a complimentary package that has the possibility of giving them tools to produce "unique" looking characters.  I've d'loaded a couple and even purchased one.  I have been less than satisfied with every single one.

That's the problem with Poser... Morphs++ only goes so far and most of the morphs are not centered around producing faces with a lot of variety in them.  Moving dial x to .00003 doesn't really help very much.

Put your product together, make sure to include some good features that focus on producing unique looking character morphs that work well with Morphs++ or by themselves, market it appropriately and you're sure to generate some interest.

Depends what figure you're talking about.  You really shouldn't assume that we all automatically KNOW what figure you're referring to.

Oh heck yeah I'd be interested as a matter of fact I like all the heads you posted in your image. I just got done cruising the various marketplaces and I've pretty much had it in purchasing anymore figures there is little or no diversity they all look like copies of each other.

These are pretty obviously V4 :)

Nice noses.  If I were you I'd split the nose morphs (and other features too, really) out from the entire face morph and give the user the option to mix and match features as much as is feasible.  Entire face morphs are not so versatile, but the main value for the DAZ figures compared to the EF figures is heavy customization of the face and body.  Nice work though, the too-flat noses of typical Poser people always pokes my "ick" button.

Definitely - split the morphs up so they can be used in different combinations.   I've been thinking about doing a freebie around something like that.  Face morphs start to become recognizable after awhile.  Having "custom" morphs is a huge plus.  There's no reason to buy someone's dialspins (IMO) but there is a huge reason to buy someone's custom-worked morphs - They're unique.

Just don't be disappointed when all the people who screams AWESOME now won't buy them after all. 

Sorry.. been there done that lots of times by now. People keep asking for "natural, non-model characters" - but when it comes to the shopping they still drop the lates botoxed V4 dialspin in the cart.

Bitter? No. Realistic? yes.

It's all about presentation.

Show a bunch of great closeup shots of unique faces and you may not get a lot of interest.  BUT, put a bunch of good shots of unique faces and pair them with boobs and leather in the background and you'll get a lot of attention. 

Advertsing words like "This is a neat thing you should buy." aren't very compelling.. but words like "Buy this or we will shoot this dog." make a more powerful statement . :)

Be unique in your presentation.  Focus on quality, clear information, outstanding value and the degree of freedom it gives the user in deciding what THEY want their character to look like.. not what some artist guy thinks looks good.  A good slogan always helps...

"Who do you want her to be today?"

Of course, never obscure what the product is.. unlike two real gems I got ripped off by.  Yup, sold by a very reputable and highly respected marketer.  Not their fault though.  I bought a face pack and a body pack touted as "unique" looks and "original" and "different" morphs...  I thought "Hey, great, I don't have to do it myself!" .... Dialspins, every last one of them.  I'll never buy any product at face value again from that producer or that marketer.

Give it out for free first. See the reaction then you create a new set with a limited discount and sell them.

I don't think that approach works very well - if you're going to make something free, make it free period.  People tend to react quite poorly to "now it's free, now it's not" approaches, cf. the Renderosity Halloween "freebie" bait and switch incident.

Well that was more directed to the idea TheOwl was suggesting - I think these morphs are pretty unique, they're the kind of thing that consistently does pretty well for Capsces.  I do strongly suggest that you split the features up though, so they can be mixed and matched - whole face morphs are not nearly as useful as specific feature changes that you can't obtain with the base morphs.  Look at Capsces' market items at DAZ and RDNA for some good guidelines.
