I'm looking for the ORIGINAL fabric texture / images that were used to make this denim set (the sun, moon & stars part).  The original artist can't remember, but she was pretty sure it came from Renderosity:

I've been in touch with Cimerone.  She's the one who can't recall where the fabric came from, except that she was pretty sure she found it here on Renderosity.

I want to say it is a swatch from the SS texture tools set by Silverleif Studios over at Daz,they had a second set here once but I can no longer find it.
I know I have the swatch it's a white backgrounded fabric called celestial I think comes with a matching border too.

I have that SIlverleif Studios texture pack, and you're right -- it's similar -- but not the same one.

Is this for a personal project? If so, you have plenty to work from as the repeat pattern seems intact.

If it's for an item you want to sell, why not just create something similar rather than deal with the hassles of (1) locating it and (2) getting the necessary permissions?

And I have to say, I find it troubling when a merchant cant remember where s/he got her/his source materials. That's the kind of thing that has the potential to lead to allllllllll kinds of problems down the road, as some of our (now former) vendors and their customers well know.

tbh..it really looks to me like they used that tile I mentioned and maybe overlayed another tile or used a brush pattern over it to get that effect.

This is absolutely for a personal project.

 I you look at the attached file / pattern from the Silverleif Studios texture pack, I think even the individual elements are different.

Part of the problem with using it as a repeat pattern is that the V4 jeans are much higher resolution, and if I try to map that pattern then it comes out very tiny.  I've tried resizing it larger, but it loses its resolution.

I guess one possibility is to re-create the elements individually in photoshop, then apply them as a brush onto a new piece of denim.

OR -- I could use the clothing conversion tools, like CrossDresser, to convert it from an original V3 pant to use with V4, then try to apply similar morphs as the V4 jeans.

The original artist did this package a while ago -- so it's entirely possible she wouldn't be able to recall exactly what she did.

I have found a few fabrics online that resemble this..since the name of that Jeans texture is "Astral"
I did a search for textiles with that name..here are my finds...maybe they can be used as a reference to make a new tile..or you could ask for permission of use or something shrug

 Beautiful!  Thanks -- were these digital fabrics (for purchase), or actual fabrics?  If they were digital, I'd purchase them and use them.

OR, create the pattern as a tile in Illustrator. Scale it by importing the texture map of the piece you're looking to apply it to, then apply it to an area and rasterize the final result.

Lots of ways to make this happen.

Do you mean trace the pattern in Illustrator?  I have Illustrator CS 4 -- I seem to recall there's a way to create outlines from bitmaps?

Either trace it or build a new one from scratch. It woldnt be that difficult: the stars are easily done with the star tool. The moon is a pretty simple "delete-forward" operation. The sun is a matter of creating a fire section and then repeating it around a circle, then constructing a face. Put a square under the finished work, and use it to define a tile pattern. Itd be more work, but it could be done.
