In two days (on Friday March 20th) it will be the “vernissage” (= private preview) of my first photographic exhibition.

It all started some months ago, when my friend’s wife (Anne-Marie Lepage, a watercolour artist already well known in South Belgium…) asked me to join in her next exhibition.

I was and I still am very honored that such an artist made me this proposal !

Actually, I will display my frames on the mezzanine of the “grange du Faing” (grange = barn) in Jamoigne, a beautiful renovated building near the castle, while the ground floor will be occupied by Anne-Marie’s aquarelles and some modern stained-glass work by Dominique Henry.

For more info (in French…) on the artists, I created a FaceBook event.

The main theme of my pictures will be “benches” (in the large sense) (I’m sure you’re not surprised !)

I made a choice among my 50+ images with a bench, printed (a relatively new experience for me) and framed about 20 photos.

I know that a lot of my R’osity friends will not be able to visit, but if you are in this area in the coming weeks, I would for sure be delighted if you stop and have a look…

Presenting, commenting and eventually selling pictures, while drinking a glass of Orval beer will be a totally new experience for me…..

Congratulation on the exhibit!!! What a great feeling that must be. I'm also a bit pissed about
the situation with Zacko and I will be leaving this site very soon. Good luck with the exhibit. :)

Congratulations on exhibiting your art.

Will you be able to have the visitors sign a guest book?

You should also consider giving out a 1-2 page 'catalog' for the exhibit.

Don't forget to create a press release and notify the local newspapers.

Remember, a little publicity could go a long way.

Thanks Martin for your kind advices... I have indeed done that kind of publicity. (the area is full of posters in the shops and I submerged the mailboxes of my friends and relatives...)
On the preview evening, the 3 artists will be presented by a local radio anchorman.
Right now, I'm working on a catalog....
Again, thanks for your interest !

I hope that Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne will be served with Beluga caviar during the preview.

LOL !
Even better, there will be French wine, ORVAL beer (the famous Belgian abbey beer) and full natural apple juice (see my series "juicing apples"...) + homemade cookies (thank you my dear Marie)
you are more than welcome, my friend ! ;~)

Wish I had something helpful to say about your upcoming photographic exhibition...and I guess I do, Congratulations and I know you will share in a smashing success. Wish I could stop by for a beer but unfortunately for me won't be nearby :) Personally, I hope you won't take a looong break from posting here. You've already been an encouragement to me as a new guy on RR. I'm still claiming "new" until a year goes by. Your exhibition flyer looks good and I see you've got top billing...very nice.
