I bought this a while ago, and have just started to work with it in depth.  I have several clothes models for V4 I want to group and make into CR2's.  AGE is going crazy, Hexagon is giving me a fit trying to break everything into groups, and make UV maps.  The questions I have are:

  1. Is there a template prop for V4, or which template should I use for V4?

  2. If I arrange a template prop for V4, can I place it in the Freebie add-on section here, or PhilC's site?

  3. What about characters with different rigging schemes- Antonia, for example, with hip1 and hip2 actors?  How could I construct a template for that?

  4. When is PhilC going to create a kick-ass UV mapping program or plugin?   I keep fighting Hexagon and UVMapper to get  good maps without distorting the model.  If there was a way to use Phil's scissors backwards, that would be awesome.

I'm just looking for ideas and suggestions, and not to raise hell.
Thanks, -Starkdog

Hi Starkdog,

I dont know the answer to your question, but I do know of a couple of very good UV mapping programs. One is headus UVlayout they have a free trial  Link: http://www.uvlayout.com/

Another is unfold3D  Link: http://www.polygonal-design.fr/e_unfold/index.php

The V4 templates are included in the current version (1.05) If you need an update and purchased via Content Paradise just access your account and download the file again. Otherwise please email me with your purchase details and I'll set up a new download for you.

See this page regarding unsupported "custom" figures.

Hope that helps

Ok.  I finally got things working, but I notice that there is a crupmle of the hip part of the mesh of the clothing when V4 is posed, reference attached picture.  What is causing this?  Also, how do I go about making JCM morphs, so that the clothes move with V4 when she raises her arms, moves legs, etc?

Thanks, -Starkdog

Ok.  I took the newly grouped mesh from OBJ2CR2, and ran it through Quick Conform.  For some strange reason, the hip artifacts went away.  I then put the swimsuit through XDresser3, and added morphs.  Phew, making stuff for V4 is tough, compared to V3.  Anyhow, Mia is happy to model the swimsuit.- Starkdog

you need to edit your joint zones for the thighs. I personally would visit PhilC's Website and read his tutorials. He has the best support and will help you out if needed.

Did you convert as Pants or Skirt? There will be differences to the jointing applied. But yes the solution is to make small adjustments to the joint parameters. If you click the OBJ2CR2 help button the page that loads has the links to the tutorials stored on your hard drive.
