Hello,

Does anyone else have a problem rendering Vue objects inside 3DS Max?
If I'm correct, I should use Mental Ray, because nothing else works. But rendering with Mental Ray doesn't work either
3DS Max crashes and Vue7 "report an error message" kicks in.
Does anyone else has this kind of problem?

And what is this Vue renderer inside of the renderers list in 3ds max? Should I use Vue renderer instead? But it doesn't work either. What is Vue renderer for anyway?

Regards

The Vue renderer renders all Vue elements, MR renders all Max elements and both renderers take into account refelctions/shadows/lights and indirect lighting of the other renderer.
Can'rt help you more, I'm afraid,; I don't use Max, but C4D. You may want to check the Vue forum at CGTalk, more xStream users over there..

What's your workflow in 3ds max? I mean, how do you set up your scene?
And - yes, mental ray Renderer is the ONLY one to render vue scenes from max.
And VUE File Renderer has NOTHING common with Vue xStream. (It's just an  an editable ASCII file format).

Wrong, vUeser. The Vue renderer in Max may be something that has nothing to do with Vue ( I don't know Max), but MR doesn't render the Vue elements in your scene, Vue does. But it's transparent to the user, both MR and Vue perform the render of their own elements. Not sure MR could render thousands of trees dynamically on an infinite terrain.
