I do not know whether the question has already been asked or not, but have not seen anything about it.
Are there banners for the affiliate program? I have only found linking instructions so far. I would expect at least a generic 468*60.
If not, are we allowed to use some of the merchant banners on external websites and redirect trafic to the target pages? What happens when the banners expire? Is the image still available?

You can find the standard affiliate banners along with linking instructions here:

I would avoid using merchant banners specifically, since it's difficult for you as an affiliate to track and edit banners for specific products. Also, based on conversations with some of our older affiliates, ads that lead to the site homepage perform much better than specific product ads. I may PM individual merchants to get their approval for using banners linking to their stores.
