Hi All. I am considering joining Daz3d' s Platinum Club via the monthly membership plan. I know they have FAQ on the site which cover most things but can anyone tell me anything that they feel I should know or may find interesting from their own experiences.
Thanks.

When I first got Poser and felt the need to have content, I joined, and bought a lot of
things, because most were $1.99. After a while I had so much stuff that it seemed
a waste of money to buy more. It got to the point where all I was getting from it
was a hit on my credit card for the monthly membership fee. So I canceled it.
Now I mostly just grab the free stuff, or make my own content in Wings 3D.
If you don't have a lot of content right now or there is something really expensive
and you can get a good discount, it's probably worth it. Just know when to quit
when you have enough.

You also get a $5.00 voucher each month that you can use on PC items. However if you don't spend it that month, they do not accumulate.
The PC gives you a discount on some items, but not on others. I can't remember what items you don't get a discount on. I think it might be brokered items.

The $5 voucher was getting extremely hard to use without spending more so for me it got to be &.95 montyh + $10 spending to use the $5 coupon. I will say for a new person starting out its probably worthwhile to join , but plan on spending $100 on stuff and pick up a lot of the 1.99 specials. They give you a bunch of older stuff when you join too.
Plat club
member ship fee 30
monthly fee 8
coupon monthly -5
30% discount on Daz Originals
coupon good on daz originals or 50% of brokered items

To clarify, PC items are the one thing you can't use the $5 voucher on.

While it isn't always the greatest thing, you can also get a freebie every week for being a platinum club member... and sometimes you stumble upon an offer that gives you Aiko3 and some uniforms for free (I'm not sure if that one is still going).
IMO one of the best parts about it is you can snap up a lot of 1.99 items to flesh out your library and on other things you can also get a small discount for getting them.

Been a PC member since it started and no complaints. It has it's ups and downs like everything else, but oveaal all I'm satisfied with it. Every once in a while throws some special deals at you, you just can't get anywhere else (like for me, a $25.00 stonemason item for only $6.00! Things like that.)

Well, I haven't done much in Poser of late, but I can tell you that when I did, I bought a LOT of stuff from Daz and the PC. It was worth it to me. Of course I'm a texture artist and every item of clothing was a potential project...LOL.
Daz is also very generous with freebies and what not.

Yeah, that voucher cannot be used on PC items. Which sucks.

I had the PC membership for exactly one month and will not renew it. In that month I spend close to $400 - it was during the March Madness sale, so I got incredible value and saved a few hundred dollars overall, so it was well worth it for me.
Once the sale ended though I let the membership expire as I had pretty much gotten all that I needed for as little as I was going to get.
So, I would say get he membership and exploit the heck out of it and see if you want to still keep it after the first month.
I think it will be most effective if you have some room on your credit card and if you purchase several items at once. You will keep the service fees down that way too.

I should mention too that poserworld.com is having a membership drive right now too. They have over 1600 items - many of which are suited to Gen 3 and 4 figures. They have some really good props too. No extra fees beyond the membership. You just sign up and start downloading!
If you do sign up there, send me a message on the board. Members get credit for referrals too :-)

As for Poserworld.com, there are different subscription models.
You can go monthly, or 3 monthly, or (I think) yearly.
Or you can get a lifetime subscription. (Which is what I have)
It is incredible value for money and I can thoroughly recommend it.
I went for the lifetime sub a few years back and I've never regretted it.

I too have a lifetime membership to poserworld and no regrets.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

I tried to sign up at Poserworld again when they had the special offer and it just would not go through so I gave up. I have been a PC member since it started and have never regretted it. I think it's a good value since you get better deals even on the sale items. Poserworld was great but noticed lately the content slowed way down. Never had any complaints about them though, always good customer service there.

Definately worth it.
I only kick myself in the rear for waiting a year or two before getting it!
