This is Supermodel Vickie in what will be part of her next clothing set, a catsuit, next to regular Vickie, in her catsuit. Made an intresting picture, I thought. Can anyone tell which is which? ;-) First time I've used Max's shrink fit, incidently, it is a good application for it, as you can plainly see.

Dizzie posted Fri, 20 April 2001 at 2:18 PM

Supermodel V is the one on the left isn't it...it's amazing, the difference! I never have understood that bunched up between the breasts...women consider that a bad clothing fit as it looks terrible....Max's shrink fit did the trick in a super way....:>) now, what is Max's shrink fit??...LOL

Crescent posted Fri, 20 April 2001 at 2:46 PM

The bunched-up in the middle is normal for clothing depending on the type of clothing, including fabric, and the chest size of the woman. The Vicki catsuit takes it a bit far, granted, but the location and relative look of the wrinkles is realistic.

It one of those many parts of Max that I've just got around to using, it actually is conforming space warp, or conforming compound item. I had to put in all the seam detail afterward, of course, otherwise it sould have been flattend out to nothing.

Can this feature in Max be used to conform a Posette head mesh to Vickie? Believe me, I have a reason for asking this.

YES.... got... to.... get.... me.... one... of....those! :c )

Jim Burton posted Fri, 20 April 2001 at 8:40 PM

It's part of 3D Studio Max. Actually, I think you possabbly could use it to shrink the Posettes mesh on to Vickie, but you would have to play around with it quite a lot to het the parts of the mesh in the right place- that is the nose mesh where the nose should be, and not halfway down the face. I don't know how you would handle things like the ears, either. First thing I thought of when I started playing around with it was I could do new mesh for Super Model Vickie, so people wouldn't have to own reqular Vickie to unpack her, as I reguard the "positions" of all her vertexes as mine, but the mesh is DAZ's. But then the thought of the ears and the fingers and the toes hit me, so I will not be doing that for awhile yet! Oh, and I aught to mention this very nice Pose is from Digiport Design, as sold at BBay, and I paid for the pose set, just like everybody else- a great buy, I think, especially as they all work perfectly with SMV (as they were done with her!)

JeffH posted Fri, 20 April 2001 at 11:43 PM

No offense intended, but SMV's face still looks a bit too "Male". -JH.

hauksdottir posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 12:30 AM

Jeff, But supermodels are often anorexic, so the feminine fullness would be missing in their faces. I've also noticed that "soft & cuddly" isn't the fashion rage this decade whereas "tough and angry" pretty much defines the glares projected by advertisers. Carolly

I Think she is very much female in all ways. She is very beautiful as well.

lplp1 posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 1:36 AM

Sorry - No offence to my last post. What I mean is She can be changed to suit one's own desire. I don't won't to get on the bad side of the forum admin. :-) :@) This image is with the mouth slightly open showing that girlish smile.

Kageboshi posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 5:39 AM

I kinda have to agree with JeffH...the 2 models in the first don't look very femenine. Especially in the face...

Jim Burton posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 2:31 PM

Gee, you don't like the face?

Jim Burton posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 2:38 PM

Anyway, if you own Max and want to try shrink wrap, here is the deal: Build your mesh, pick Compound Object from the top menu bar, pick conforming object (the second icon), go to the roll out, pick conform along vertex normals, try a 1.0 offset and 5 or 10 distance, then pick the "conform to" object. The result is a compound object, you can break out the original by converting to a mesh object, go to element level and pick the conform-to item and delete it. Here is a top I'm working on that was conformed, notice how I allowed for the details in th emesh, this isn't a cure all, don't we wish it was!

I don't know what's written in between here and I don't have time, but your catsuit clothes, the one on the "LEFT"...ooooh......drooooool!! It....um...looks real swell...;-)

Ghostofmacbeth posted Sat, 21 April 2001 at 4:21 PM

Jim .. Catsuit looks good S and uhm nope .. still don't like the face. Never have. Personal preference and all.

lplp1 posted Sun, 22 April 2001 at 1:24 AM

Jim- How did you get her hair to look so fine in texture? Thats looks so realistic. Not plastic.

Jim Burton posted Sun, 22 April 2001 at 2:21 PM

My newer hair, including SMV's "regular" hair and the Hollywood hair set, is made of tubes that are transmapped along the length. One problem is Poser's anti-alaising must be on for the hair to look good, and for best results I render 2X and scale it back in Photoshop. The picture just above is a Max render, it was really originally to show a problem in Nax- it doesn't render the "back" sides of the tubes.
