Acadia posted Wed, 13 May 2009 at 7:42 PM
Hmmm.
I wonder if it's a revamping of what is currently the clearance area.
I saw in a thread that another store, instead of removing less popular items from their store now offer them for drastically reduced prices in their "basement" area.
Currently the way Renderosity works, is if an item isn't popular and selling, it goes into clearance and if it doesn't sell there, it's removed from the store entirely and can't be put back until dramatically revamped.
I like the sales found in the clearance area, but I don't like the way it's done. Just because an item isn't selling heaps at this point in time, doesn't mean it won't be wanted by someone at some point.
So I hope it's a revamping of the clearance area and that it will be replaced with a basement that will not see good products removed from the reach of future customers due to lack of immediate sales.

dphoadley, there is literally almost a million items in freestuff. Not everyone gets picked. The picks will most likely change, and they are based on what we, as staff, use and/or find really useful, not how many downloads they get. Just like the Gallery staff picks, we choose what we think is well done, not what gets the most hits.

At the risk of making the backroom BagginsBill-centric (he already has two entries in the tutes area) I really think we need to include his gamma-correct-your-materials how-to for Poser 5, 6 and 7 users. It is one of the most critically important and yet least understood areas of Poser.
I don't want to hijack your backroom, either, but I am looking for a discussion-circle for the how-to-approach certain materials questions. Not sure if this is the right place or not.
