Hi,
If I am dabbling in photogrammetry and using Photomodeler or similar to create a 3D model of an existing building but I want to reskin the building using some spiffed up textures. (Like stone VS brick or something.) Is there a way to not just select areas of photos by color, but to select by representative texture sample ? In other words, is there a tool out there that will match areas by pattern recognition ? Otherwise would using Live Trace in Illustrator help in this regard ?
It's not that selcting wall surfaces on a single building would be terribly time consuming, but we're talking about lots and lots of buildings : ) Any insights on a way to automate the process would be most welcome.
Thanks,
JF
