And by the way, you might wanna check this out...

Go to the bottom, and check out what we're talking about doing on a regular basis and maybe contributing some images for play.

Good crop - seein the silhouetted birds as subject makes it more of a dramatic graphic design - cool thought!

Thanks, Lew!

Since this has only been up for a couple of days, I'm going to wait until the weekend to put up the next DITI thread.  Sound okay to you?  I want people to have a chance to play with your image!

Ok, here is my bit-o-messing with the shot.   : )

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

thundering1 posted Mon, 15 June 2009 at 9:20 PM

Funky! Looks almost like a charcoal drawing with a lot of blending - cool!

Looks like you painted it with a palette knife - very nice!

Thanks Tara, for the inspiration..... I wanted to do something similar.

Now here is where I'm really stupid........ I really like this look, almost like a brochure or mag ad, but.............. I'm not sure if I could recreate this look! I never keep track of what I'm doing, I just play until I come up with something I like. Maybe if I kept a notepad or journal near me I would take the time to write down the steps........... NAH!!!! LOL :P

I'm like you ... I just stumble around and figure stuff out as I go!  After a while I start to notice I'm liking the same buttons, so after a while I learn.  :D

That's funny!
Yeah - I hate it when I've stumbled through trying different things out and finally arrive at a look that I really like, and can't for the life of me remember how I did it...

Well, I think we should start a thread to see if anyone has a simple solution for us. I know some of the new programs have a note taker or history built in to the program.... I just don't know if my program does or how to use it!!! LOL :P

I keep PS at about 20 levels/states of History - I usually do a LOT of dabbling with paint or other things (Healing Brush, Stamp, Curves/Paths, etc.) and I mow through the history and realize what I needed to know was about 40 clicks back - too late...

I think you can set it up to 99 history states - I'm usually working on MAMMOTH file sizes so I like to keep my RAM fairly clear so I don't get as much lag in operations.

Great DITI, here is my humble offering. I went for a more ominous mood.
