Subject: I did not see what I was asking in the forum: Import/Export .OBJs?

I know that Blender creates .blender file format. I do not know for sure if Paulo's post on the poser import/export is the answer to this or if this is a different question entirely (*bear with me I am new to Blender). Does Blender have the ability to import/export OBJ format files? If not, is there any sort of file conversion tool available to do this?

To be clear what I intend or want to do is... I want to create and export the creation as an OBJ *. I would like to Import and modify, alter my own OBJ * in Blender. (*generally it is a wavefront obj).

BTW, one other thing, in general can someone reccomend a good file converter for most standard and possibly VOB(*Vue), and Bryce as well???

Thank you for letting me ask what might be a totally silly question to the more experienced Blender pro.

Yes, it's listed as "Wavefront (.obj)" on the import and export menus. > Quote - BTW, one other thing, in general can someone reccomend a good file converter for most standard and possibly VOB(*Vue), and Bryce as well???

There are no converters to/from those formats other than the applications themselves (both can import and export OBJ) because their native files are undocumented proprietary binary formats.

Look under the File menu in Blender, Import, toward the end of the list there is "Wavefront obj"
You can watch a tutorial about the whole process at http://paolociccone.com/tutorials/blender_poser_fbm.html

If you haven't used Blender before it can be quite the "impact", the UI is great but is very different from anything else. A good source of introductory tutorials is totallyblended.com
Also the book "Introducing Charactech Animation with Blender" has a very nice description of the Blender UI.
