If you could would you make your own content for poser, and if so how long would you actually be prepared to spend on making something, and what would you like to make?

I'm just curious :) as I'm putting together some tutorials and want to pitch them to the right time frame and the right subject.

Yes, I can make my own( textures).

2.and if so how long would you actually be prepared to spend on making something, and what would you like to make?***

As long as it needs to be.

Fair enough, though I wasnt clear in my original post :) I was thinking of something you couldn't already do.

There's always room for more tutorials out there.  You should probably be very conservative in any "how long will this take" estimates, because when you're not familiar with the tools being used (why would you really need a tutorial otherwise?) it takes a long time just to do ANYTHING, however basic.

:) I've been looking into that kinda thing myself, it seems an arcane art.  I'm guessing confirming hair is preferable to dynamic.

Dynamics can look so good they'll blow your mind, but they require a ton of work.  Polygonal hair doesn't.

Hmmm. It would depend on what it was.  I don't have a great deal of patience for tedious things, so if it was something that would fall together relatively easily without a whole bunch of trial and error, I would probably make the odd thing like a Vase or other type of scene filler item that wasn't too complicated to make.

What I really would like to do is make my own textures, but when it comes to matching front/back and side seams it seems like it involves too much trial and error and I get too frustrated and give up. Even using SnowSultan's templates aren't helpful when it comes to matching up seams.

So far as models that  I would like to try and make?  There are a few things.

And as indicated earlier...a visual on how to match the template seams front/back/sides when using a texture that has patterns in it, or when wanting to make a transmap.

Among Acadia's list I'd think shoes would be an excellent choice for a tut.
They're popular, salable when good, and would educate the basics
of  "organic" modeling without the added headaches of joints.

Thanks all, good thoughts indeed.  Hair and Shoes are a big thing I think, I know I get frustrated with the limitations of conforming hair against the trickiness of dynamic.

And shoes are a topic all of their own :) High, flat, boots, strappy lots of different styles to deal with.

I have some thoughts on both and need to experiment.

As to props they are an interesting subject, it's often hard to find what you want to add that little extra to your scene.  That brings me on to cenerey in general, outdoors indoors and the like, though I suppose you could call those big props :)

Hi John,
PhilC has a great set, Hair designer, and tutorial for making hair. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Good Shoe tutorials are difficult to find.

I am very impressed with your 3DCoat tutorials. It is a new product with limited good tutorials that transfer to Poser. Also 3DCoat tutorials in theory  are interesting to ZBrush users.

I would be very interested in some jewelery making tutorials. It would be great if they were in 3DCoat or spline based (like Max, Hexagon etc). My preference would be 3Dcoat as it si new and affordable.

Textures:
I would be very interested in a good "projection mapping" tutorial for making textures from photos, (preferably for 3DCoat). The basics would be valuable for Poser users,3DCoat, ZBrush Deep Paint 3D and  Bodypaint users. That is a tutorial that is difficult to find. If anyone has any good links to one I would be grateful for them.

That's my wishlist. i hope you continue with the tutorial making as you are very good at it.

Bless ya lululee you are such a sweetie :)  I'll check out phils hair tutes, they sound most interesting.

I know 3d coat will do projection mapping so thats something I can have a go at.  And jewelery sounds fun to do too :)

I have some thoughts about the shoes thing, I just need to know a lil more about voxels and I think I will have it cracked :)

John.
