Here is apple pie, a tall one done in a spring form pan and 4 lbs of apples...dig in! I am taking it off the stove and too the cookout right now.
**
You add the other stuff...**ice cream? Grilled ribeyes or salmon..or hot dogs on the barbe...this is a good chance to show off tasty morsels from where you live. oops, I started with dessert, sweets and I am on a diet....we need solid foods too and a friendly crowd.
This is like a new game and I want to see who will join in this virtual cook out for all of us.
Thanks...TomDart.

Good heavens! That pie is ... I've never seen one like that before! I'll be adding something soon. I've got a few good downhome recipes in mind... in fact, my girl and her boy are out catfishing tonight and if I'm lucky, I'll be frying up a mess of catfish and hushpuppies tomorrow night!

So, Bruce...I'm curious to see what you come up with... BTW, I found a striped bass and another catfish in the freezer when I woke this morning from my girl's fishing trip, so a fried fish dinner is just around the corner. :-)

Oh MAN!!! That apple pie looks like a killer!!! I should apply directly to my thighs! LOL :P
Darn, I just ate dinner before I saw this post or I would have got a shot of my pizza.
I'll try to come up with something creative soon.
I wish I hadn't seen those pies, cuz now I'm craving dessert! :( (I'm also on a diet!)

Remember, whaleman said, "Life is uncertain, one should start with dessert." I agree and say that while on a diet and off sugar for many years now.
I suspect we will get some main course stuff before long...

Oh, back on track... Here is our dinner from last night. Fresh fried catfish and striped bass, halfed baked potatoes and white corn on the cob. Simple and oh-so-good! Not shown, ice cream and fresh blueberries for dessert.

Here is some meat. Local guys compete while rasing money for the boys and girls clubs. This is fresh and hot. I am not sure but is that a chicken on a stick?! Could be a little game hen. Fish on a stick, ok..but chicken on a stick..humm.
This cookout has enough to last a few days and I am waiting for more. The desserts are already eaten, the stew is only scrapings on the pan...the stirfrys are mostly gone and the fish will go real fast. I like the stripers myself.
MrsLubner posted Fri, 17 July 2009 at 6:26 PM
Tom, the fish who is eyeballing you is one of several stuffed fish pillows of varied size we have. We are very much an angler family - generations back, in fact - and our bed pillows, sofa pillows and throw pillows range from giant sturgeons 5 feet long to this one in my food shot. BTW, we fish at least 3 times a week during the summer - either one or all of us at a time. :-)
I'm hoping for a nice bowl of soup or a plate of starters soon... I love the variety. :-)

kgb, you also have the "presentation" done well...what is in the parfait or dessert glass? This looks scrumptous and I just took a med that makes me wait an hour to eat anything...
Tunde, I love garlic but it stays with me a couple of days.
babuci posted Sat, 18 July 2009 at 12:44 PM
lol...Tom must eat it on the weekend only...lol but very good for ppl suffering form heart problem. Lowers a colesterol (the bad one), keep blood preassure down and cleans a blood. Small price to pay at least it is natural. Take a Coversyl for high blood preasure and all sorts of side effect comes out. I am happy to trade.
The apple or a glass of milk after food helps for the "after effect" of the garlic. Can not go wrong with a good brushing either.

I eat tons of coles, onions and garlic (and carrots) for my health. Cleans the blood and all good for preventing illness. 3 ounces or less of meat a week will also help (hence why I eat so much stir fry since you need little meat in it to make a meal)

For anyone not familiar with brownies, the tasty morsels are from a land somewhere between fudge and cake..these are moist, chewy, rich with chocolate but not so rich you will eat just one. Oh, you will eat several for certain.
Oh, the soup looks great..ever tried to roast beet slices? That is tasty, too.
Be there in a minute with the brownies...
