Can anyone - or has anyone already - made Bryce Skies like this?

Sounds like a mini-challenge to me?  You up to it?

I think Bryce is up to this. There are hundreds of skies presets about.

Well this is not anywhere as dramatic as the skies in those photos and not even done with volumetrics but here's a start. It's done with a tweaked Venus sky preset by changing the sun's color after positioning and also changing the haze color.

Here's my attempt.  I'm no purist, so I combined a photo of mine with a Bryce sky.  Still not as good as the ones at Fran's link, but I kinda like it.

Very nice Skies Quest and BecSchm! I'll have to see if I can come up with some creative sky to add to this.

I'm sure it can be done in Bryce.  I'm not sure it can be achieved in the sky lab only though.  I did some experimenting and came up with this.  This is a custom sky with all clouds turned off.  The clouds are "fuzzy cloud" preset mat that I added two more channels in mat lab and tweaked in DTE.  then applied to six separate cubes in the scene.

The result would make a presentable stratus.  The next step would be to add the cumulus clouds at a lower altitude and get their color layers right.  With work it could be done.  The render times would be unbelievably long.

I had a little play myself and came up with this:

Got a new one - using more separate clouds:
