Curious if there is a way to do this or if there is a product for sale that does it for you. I know poser is supposed to with the sketch tool but have yet to get a good render from it. Are there any products or tips that do this?

Well, if you google "raster to vector," you'll find a load of free and commercial apps. I'm guessing the quality will depend on the source material but I don't know. One you can try online is VectorMagic  vectormagic.com/home Ink9000 is a 3d oriented app that will create line art from .obj files inkulator.sourceforge.net/

You probably get more control by importing into something like Corel Draw or Illustrator and tracing manually. I haven't tried it but a free/inexpensive vector editor is DrawPlus www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/drawplus/

Other than that, I guess there's the line art filters in PhotoShop.

one of olivier's poser shaders does good line art using the falloff shader.  it's the one of "girl" as j. rabbit in his promos. technically it's easy to implement, but if anybody showed how to do it, that would cut into ollie's sales, hence nobody has posted it here or even at rdna AFAIK.

This is a free program.

Of course what lmckenzie said is a big deal about the quality of the original material.
With this program use 2 filters,  Artistic---> Comic strip and the ink outlines filters.

Here is a pic I made then used those filters on. Just so you can see if it's what your looking for :)

I postworked this picture with GIMP, the thin outline was done using the Laplace detect border filter, if this is what you are looking for.

I have an action that I bought here but will have to find my PS 7, doesn't seem to work in any of the cs versions.

the above is what I got after vectorising previously posted bitmap (two zoom levels) using aforementioned desktop app (default settings). however, said bitmap img is not good candidate for vector img IMVHO.

if you can afford it ( $250) Vector magic is the best program for bitmap to vector IMHO

Off the topof my head, I can't recall which language it is, but I can say this: If you think about it, and you think you might know what the word means in said foreign language, I can tell that you're probably right.

Poser Render "inked" with Ink9000 formerly Inkulator, which I think approximated a "naughty" word in Italian, IIRC.

Ink9000 has a lot of different settings to fool around with, coarse and fine, and seems to like best OBJECTS without (a lot of) textures.  

I'm pretty new here.  My uncle, a long time member, introduced me to Poser, but I have had more fun fooling around with Poser objects in Ink9000.  And also converting renders in Inkscape.  Good programs, free both of them.
