I'm not sure just why it's started happening now, but I'm having trouble exporting items from Poser 6 as a .obj file. The selection of options has stopped working, so I can turn on and off the two options which are on by default, but not change the options which are default-off. This includes the "as morph target" option.

The same thing seems to be happening with P5.

Running on Windows XP. Maybe an upgrade/patch is responsible.

I am not rushing to the P8 upgrade.

Things were working a few months back when I frankensteined Aiko 3 with the Melody figure to get version without a built-in tail.

If I remember rightly, OBJ export is handled by a plug-in. A reinstallation may be called for.

If it's happening in both 5 and 6, it can't be the plugin FFOBJ.ARP, because
that's not shared.   Unless a virus has corrupted both of them, which seems
unlikely.  (But oddly, a number of viruses have ARP in their name!)

You might try doing a System Restore to an earlier date, to see if a system
DLL is the culprit.

I remember something about the obj exporter losing focus.

Try clicking on the Start menu bar and then on Poser again to regain focus. I vaguely remember someone reporting that the option boxes were now selectable again. Doesn't make any sense of course but it's worth a try :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

I remember that too, now that you mention it.  Definitely worth a try.

Um, yeah, so do I. Now that you mention it. :-) The thing to do, I believe, was to switch to another window - if you didn't have one open, then Notepad would do, anything really as long as it takes the "focus" (in OS terms) away from Poser.

That one's actually buried in the release notes for one of the P6 upgrades.

This may be the point at which I end up trying Linux and WINE, rather than trying to figure which security patch on Windows might be responsible.

I've still no idea why the problem started happening, but the "loss of focus" workround does work.
