I've been working on trying to discover if there are any bugs with Poser 8 and it seems that Poser 8 doesn't create preview thumbnails for older content. I installed Aiko3 and some older Daz content and some older content that I purchased on Renderosity and the only thumbnail that I got was a guy holding his hands out showing that there was no thumbnail image. The only thing that I could think is that poser wasn't reading the older content correctly.
Let me konw if you are having a similar problem with missing thumbnail previews and if the missing thumbnails is from really old content

Frederick,
There's a note in the Read Me about Poser 8 not supporting the older thumbnails. When we re-architected Poser 8, we removed a code layer that was crippling our ability to optimize the application and expand features in many areas, including the UI. Due to removing this antique layer of code, we had to surrender support for the old previews and the old Poser 4 renderer. The Poser 8 readme explains this as well.
For the betterment of the product in the future, these were two areas we had to give up.

According to Poser 8 Readme.rtf (in your installation folder)"
Fundamental Architectural Changes
Due to fundamental architectural changes in Poser 8 that have removed legacy code, and improved overall performance in many areas across the application, the old Poser 4 renderer and automatic RSR Library thumbnail conversion to PNG has been discontinued.
P3DO explorer (free stuff) has an RSR to PNG conversion utility (an additional download) that will convert your RSR thumbs to PNG, which Poser 8 uses. You'll find P3DO explorer in freestuff.

Thanks for the answer guys. Not a big lost considering how much better Poser 8 works and it's good to know that it's not a Bug but something that was intentionally done. Also thanks for the providing a way to create the thumbnails.

P3DO explorer free version, you have to select each folder one at a time to convert the rsr's
however dizzi posted this link - http://neocron.lunarpages.com/library/installer/RSR%20Converter_1_0_0_1.zip -for a program that converts all folders in one go, it takes a couple of minutes but works well..

Having a problem with the rsr converter. It got to content it wouldnt convert and then stopped working all together. Tried restarting the program 4 times, and sent it to different folders. No go.

Ahhh, so Poser 8 doesn't convert RSR files anymore? I guess that makes sense why I saw an increase of RSR to PNG converters floating around. :>
I'm still merrily chugging around on Poser 7. Maybe I'll get lucky and suddenly get a whole mess of money... or maybe I'll get lucky and snag P8 if/when it hits $1.99 again :>
Currently using Poser Pro 2012 (Display Units = feet)
AMD Phenom II 3.2ghz (6 cores)
8gb RAM
Windows 10 Pro 64bit
