I have driven myself insane trying to install poser8...Is there anyone who can tell me why this is happening and why?

This is what comes up everytime I install it...

Looks to me like the file didn't download correctly.

The filesize should be 625 MB (655.980.276 byte)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I bet you're trying to run it on Vista, right click the icon & run as administrator, that fixed it for me.

Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1

Hmmm maybe right click run the installer as administrator, or make sure UAC is turned OFF if you are on vista? (google that, and you'll find complete instructions.)

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

No I am running XP pro ...This is driving me nuts...

When you re-installed, how did you answer the question about what to do with the existing configuration files?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

If you haven't install the lastest Microsoft C++ runtime,  you can try downloading and installing the latest from Microsoft,  found here:

www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx

Because the application runs in Vista, your copy of XP may require this runtime to be installed for the application to run correctly.

good luck
