There are a few forums here I visit regularly, and are popular, with a lot of new threads and replies.
But some of them are barely populated at all, and when I access them I see nothing. No posts, no threads, no anything.
I have to select "archive" from the list, to display a date range. Or I suppose I could click on the post date thing or something. I just thought of that right now. ;-)
But anyway, why does this happen? I don't have them filtered out out anything. Is there a way to see all the most recent threads (even if they are over a year old), in all forums, by default? A n00b here would see an empty forum and figure it was simply dead and might not think about how to get at any threads that may be there.
Most forums have a drop down for show all since beginning, since last month, or whatever. Why can't we have something like that here?
EDIT-
Actually, I just noticed that forums with no threads showing also have no option for "sort by last post or reply" up there.

All threads with no replies in the last 45 days disappear into the archives.
It's a feature of the forum software not any user controlable filtering.

Ok thanks for the answer, I kinda figured that.
So now this becomes not a question, but a request... can we have something a little more traditional, like a simple "show all posts since ___" button?

Hi Mike!
I'll ask the techs about this and see if I can get that enhancement on our list.
Thanks
