Try some of these threads Black_Star :o)Laurie
Hi Black_Star, these are quite a lot of questions. I'm sure most of them will be answered in the threads LaurieA linked to. About the smooth polygons option: When Smooth poly is checked, the firefly renderer will smoothen the surfaces. If you encounter strange 'balloon' effects with an object, you can uncheck Smooth polygons for this object in the properties palette of the parameters pane individually. This will override the general setting in the render options. You can also try to lower the crease angle (default is 80). Or you can assign smoothing id's with the grouping tool. For a cylinder you would assign two ids, for a box 3.

Hi!
I have missed around 6 months from Renderosity and quite lost the track of the things.
I posted this thread in order to ask for help to "recover" myself.
In this time I was absent I lost my settings and test files that I used for renders in a HDD crash (you know, those dreaded Seagate 11 series made in Thailand...) and right now I am pretty well...a newbie yet again.
My question is : where can I find tutorials that describe the render settings of Poser 7, comparations between the rendering using the two main types of shadows and lights, and especially about the lights that use mapped shadows (I guess this was the name...right?), I also need to realearn what shadow only and smooth polygons do (I remember they also had some drawbacks), also the drawbacks of using one setting over another and something about the various types of light (I remember there were two? omni and infinite), IBL and raytracing use.It seems that I canot track them again in the forums, as I get too many irrelevant results.I hope you can help me.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards!
