I think it solved my crashes. Some of the steps bellow looks redundant, but I listed them anyways just for safety. With computers you never know...

Heres what you do:

Close Poser, then open it again. Don't load any scene.
Now press CONTROL+Y, then click the Preview tab.
Under Display Engine, select SreeD, Software, and uncheck the "Enable hardware shading" just for safety. Click Save Settings.
Now press CONTROL+7 to switch to Cartoon w/lines preview rendering method.

Open your scene. Once its open, if the preview window is not on the Cartoon w/lines rendering method, press CONTROL+7 again to switch to it. Now again press CONTROL+Y to double check if the settings you changed above on the Preview tab are still as you left. If not, set them again.

Now, save your scene, close Poser 8, and re-open it. Again, just for safety, press CONTROL+Y and check the Preview tab. Load your scene and then check again the Preview tab. If it's all as you set and the rendering method is still Cartoon w/lines, try using Poser 8 now to see if it'll crash.

Please post your results if you can!

What kind of crashes does this solve?  It crashes when you are doing toon?  Just curious...Sharen

Mostly it crashes when switching between body parts in the Material window. But with me it's been crashing all around. Second favorite place to crash was when editing a light on the Pose window.

Update your graphics accelerator card driver as well, that may be causing some of the instability.
